Alrighty, I'm back for Day 3.
I'm sorry I'm a little late today -
I had to fix an email forwarding issue and tech stuff is NOT my favorite haha!
I also wanted to send you a Google Doc today, but I decided to do something different...
I'll tell you about that down below after today's tip.
Also, if you've MISSED an earlier Pinterest Tips from PotPieGirl email, links to read those are also at the bottom.
Alrighty, let's jump in!
Today's Pinterest tip is a fun one -
and it has been VERY successful for me.
In short, I'm going to show you how to work what WORKS...
and get even MORE traffic from Pinterest.
Today's tip is a little trick I use to "round up" my own pins.
I'm sure you've heard the term "Round Up Post" before?
Perhaps you even make them?
(I do - they're fun!)
What we're going to do is create a new Round Up post on your blog that re-uses versions of your pins that you know WORK for you.
What I want you to do is this...
Head on over to your Pinterest profile page and head up to the search bar.
(note: I strongly recommend doing this on a desktop or at least a laptop so you can see what you're doing)
Type a word - any word - in that search bar and be sure the search bar is set to show "Your Pins"
(it's a little drop down option on the right of the search bar)
Pinterest will then return search results of only YOUR pins that have to do with that word.
AND, you can easily see your pin stats right underneath each pin.
So, let's take an example of how this could work for YOU.
Example:
Let's say you're a food blogger.
You have a lot of dessert recipes.
A lot of your recipes include chocolate.
If you search Your Pins on Pinterest for the word 'chocolate', I bet you'd have a TON of different pins that go to different posts.
Scroll through those pins - make note of the ones that work well for you.
And then brainstorm how you can use a unique variation of those pin images to create a new post with those images in the post.
Using the 'chocolate' example...
Perhaps you have a chocolate cake pin, a chocolate pudding pin, a chocolate cookie pin, etc etc...
And those pins all do well to drive traffic to those individual blog posts.
Why not make a new post using those pins?
Off the top of my head...
"Best Chocolate Dessert Recipes For Valentine's Day"
Whatcha think?
YES - it works SUPER well.
And, YOU are getting more out of those pins you created.
AND....
Those pins are doing extra work FOR you.
Obviously, I don't know YOUR blog or what YOU blog about...
But YOU do =)
Think about words, phrases, ingredients, colors, rooms, Holidays etc that you seem to use often in your pin titles and descriptions.
Then search Your Pins for them and see what you've got to work with.
ACTION STEPS FOR TODAY:
Go to your Pinterest profile.
Use the search bar to search Your Pins for common words, phrases, ingredients, Holidays etc based on what YOU pin.
Pick 5-6 pins that do well for you.
Brainstorm a common thread of how all 5-6 of those pins can be used in one NEW post.
Create and publish post.
Pin THOSE pins from that new 'Pin Round Up Post' and let them work for you too.
TIP: These Pin Round Up Posts do the best when:
- the pin description etc are targeting a new set of keywords
- the pin images are at least a little different from the original
NOTE: to do REALLY well on Pinterest, you have GOT to be able to make images quickly and easily.
With my WONDERFUL image tool, I can take any pin image, modify it slightly (or a LOT) and have it pinned on Pinterest, or in my blog post within about 2 MINUTES.
Don't skimp on tools =)
This is my image tool - it even has a Wordpress plugin which makes post images a BREEZE.
And it sure makes creating Pin Round Up Posts SUPER easy.
Above all - Don't overlook this Pin Round Up Post idea because it's too "simple" - or too hard.
You can do it!
ALWAYS WORK WHAT WORKS.
Ok, now on to what I've been up to today...
And I'm REALLY excited about it!
WHY?
Because it's "My Happy Place"
(that will make sense when you read it)
It's NOT for everyone -
it's really only for a special few bloggers that totally GET IT -
and are at "that" place with their blog and Pinterest results.
All the details are here on my blog.
(the page is hidden so you probably won't find it easily without that link)
In short, I want to pin for YOU.
Details are here.
I even let you see my Pinterest stats and a screenshot of my Custom Pinterest Dashboard.
I'm a wee bit "OCD" when it comes to Pinterest haha!
Ok, that's it for today.
"See ya" tomorrow!
