    ASSITEJ Coffee Sessions..

    ASSITEJ, The International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People, has held on-line coffee sessions to discuss the impact of Covid-19 on Performing Arts for the young audiences field with ASSITEJ centers members and other artists in different parts of the world.

    AFCA has been invited to participate in two of those meetings to share updates and exchange opinions about the situation in Africa and The Middle East.

    Share your Inclusive Art

    IIAN, The International Inclusivity Arts Network, is the ASSITEJ network of inclusive theater makers and it’s also an on-line community for anyone who is interested in learning about, creating or programming inclusive work for young audiences.

    The Network has launched the IIAN Champion project this year and the artistic director of AFCA, Mohamed El-Ghawy, is now participating as a representative of Egypt in this project. 

    Therefore we encourage all Egyptian Theater practitioners, especially those who are concerned with dramatic arts for disabled, to visit the network website to know more about its vision and activities.

    Oilhack at AFCA ..

    In cooperation with the French Institute, AFCA’s Maadi premises welcomed the French artist Oilhack last February as part of the program prepared for Young Scholars of Egypt school trip.

    Oilhack workshop has offered the students an exciting new experience by testing a different style of painting, which combines visual arts techniques with video stimuli to create an in between space where the children can express themselves and interact with the scene through free movements.

    Hakawy 2021 dates, stay tuned!

    Three months have already passed since the closure of Hakawy International Festival 2020, and here’s AFCA started to get ready for the 11th edition that’s scheduled to take place from 11 to 20 March 2021. 

    Basita.Live is live now for testing..

    Our friends in Agora Foundation have announced the launching of Basita.live by mid-June in order to keep the bond and ease the communication between art makers and their audiences during this time of social distancing.
