DURA, still has funds available for our RHAMP program, which provides grants for people with disabilities for modifications. The household taxable income must be below 50% AMI, they must live in Denver County, and must have a disability per the ADA. The grants average at about $7,500 and DURA works with contractors to have the work completed. Renters and homeowners are eligible but renters must be in a 12-month lease.

To apply applicants can either apply online by selecting "Apply Now" at our website, https://renewdenver.org/housing-rehabilitation/rhamp/, or they can complete an application over the phone by calling DURA at 303-534-3872.

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)

Assistance programs for seniors include food, health, legal aid, and job training. 

For more information about SCSEP, contact the U.S. Department of Labor at 1-877-872-5627.

Who is eligible for SCSEP?

To be eligible for SCSEP, you must be:

  • 55 or older
  • Unemployed
  • Living on a family income of no more than 125% of the federal poverty level (if you’re not sure, contact a local SCSEP office)

    Salvation Army

    The Salvation Army provides short-term rental assistance and financial assistance for security deposits. They work with organizations that can provide emergency lodging and shelter.

    More Life Center: IT classes

    The More Life Center through Colorado Community Church is offering a 6-8 week free Information technology (IT) class for a limited amount of folks who want to learn about computer skills. The training is free and they help find each person a job after the course is over along with a certificate.

     More Life Center also offers free legal assistance, food assistance, sewing, and home-maker classes for people who want a career in the field of sewing and home-making. I believe they offer cooking classes as well

    The More Life Center number is open on Wednesdays and the contact number is 720-748-0257.

    The class is taken remotely from 9- 4 PM  Monday - Thursday for six weeks.

    For all interested call Colorado Community Church (CCC) at 303-738-3838. Once the options are given, press option # 0 for the Office Administrator to let them know that you are interested in the free IT classes.

    P-EBT provides families with children eligible for free or reduced-price school meals with funds to help buy food since schools were closed this Spring due to the pandemic. You can receive up to $279 per eligible child to stretch your food budget.

    2020 Mobile Food Pantry Schedule

    EVERYONE WELCOME ― FREE FOOD FOR PEOPLE IN NEED

    Empower Field at Mile High (1701 Bryant St. Denver, CO 80204) the fourth Monday of every month from 9 - 11:30 a.m. or until all food is distributed.

    Eligibility is self-declared for government food distribution programs - you do not need to provide any proof of eligibility (photo IDs are encouraged but not required)
    • Distribution is outdoors - please dress appropriately for the weather (hot or cold)
    • Please bring bags or boxes to transport your food

        Colorado Sled Hockey is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 and in 1996 was the first sled hockey team sponsored by an NHL affiliate. We are dedicated to providing a competitive environment to foster independence and elevate social interaction through hockey.
