And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.".
From the time God told Moses “I am”, He has through the ages periodically reminded His people about who He is. In Genesis 17:1 He chose Abraham’s childlessness for that purpose - And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.". In Revelations 1 the Lord seizes the opportunity of the imperfection of the Asian churches to declare that “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”. The Lord showed himself mighty against Kings Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar in intervening for the oppressed.
This month He has, through our theme of the month, told us again that He is “Almighty God”. That theme derives primarily from Genesis 17:1. It is important that when the word of God comes to you, you understand what it means in your context because he uses the same word for different rhema to different people. What does God being the almighty, the all able, the unequaled mean to you in your current situation, in your current challenge, in your current fears and doubts?
God being almighty situates him above all circumstances. That realization should always bring comfort and peace of mind. May He be almighty in your new quest to serve Him better. May he bring you peace in a troubling and uncertain time as we are in.
