Winter is in full force in my corner of the world...even though today's temps are fairly mild for January. But here in the great state of Ohio, winters can be cold, dark, and long, so finding ways to battle the winter blahs (they're a serious thing for some folks) is key to thriving.
Enter hygge(pronounced HUE-gah), which is the Danish word for all things warm, cozy, and comforting, especially through the dark winter months. While our English language may not have a trendy word for this idea (I mean, hygge just looks and sounds pretty cool), I think most people around the world who face the long and sometimes dreary days of winter have created similar means of coping as they wait for springtime to arrive.
