Hi Girls Matter,
I'm thrilled to drop into your inbox with an exciting update from Girls Matter's latest project in Buyaya, Uganda.
You might not think building a toilet block is a glamorous endeavor, but when the only existing facilities are full and the threat of sickness, UTIs and school closure looms, it becomes a vital mission. That's why, in collaboration with Meaningful Volunteers, we diverted funds to this important project.
Check out photo 1 for a glimpse of day 1, the start of the daunting task of digging. And in photo 2, witness the triumphant last day of digging—no small feat, especially when faced with rock and clay!
Next came the brickwork, the stability of which was threatened by downpours. They pressed on anyway, ensuring the structure could withstand the elements and provide a safe haven for the community's children.
Now, thanks to your generous support, the kids have access to three brand-new pit toilet stalls, allowing them to stay in school without interruption.
Whether you've contributed through my "Don't Wait For Your Wake Up Call!" podcast or simply by believing in our mission at Girls Matter, your donations made this project possible. Together, we're making a real difference in the lives of these children and their community.
Thank you for being a part of our journey. Let's keep the momentum going and continue to support Girls Matter as we strive to create positive change in Uganda and Kenya, for our girls and their communities.
