Issue 66- June 26, 2020

Hello Friends-

"Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and musings.

This past week has been an interesting one for me-I've been developing some new offers that I will be sharing with you all (later down on the page), doing some art therapy (I thank God for that self-care outlet!), and conducting a few food experiments.

Lastly, I want to thank each of you who "came out" to my event last Friday. It meant a lot, and it was truly touching to "see" you, and to receive all of the kind feedback you shared in the aftermath. I will be doing more of these events in the near future- so, stay tuned for updates!

Random stories, pictures, video highlights, and other life musings can be found on my personal instagram page (@e101) and official brand page (@thecre8tiveartisan) throughout the week (when/if I end up posting anything).

*And, if you have missed any previous newsletters, feel free to check out the archive section on my website: HERE.

Continued prayers that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy

(mentally & physically) out there 💗.

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Redamancy (n): A love returned in full

  • ADVICE: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi

  • MOOD MUSIC: I'm in my Stevie feels this week...and love this little gem of him singing the timeless classic, "My Cherie Amor," in Italian

  • QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATION: "Watchmen" was something that I had been hearing about for a while- but, as self-proclaimed Rom-Com, Drama, and Dramedy lover, it was never "super high" on my list. I did end up binge watching the series this past week though. And, while it wasn't necessarily a "fun" watch for me, I am glad that I stuck it out, and watched it until the end.

  • THE MORE YOU KNOW: One of the things that is not often taught in school history classes is the history of the Anti-Literacy Laws. These laws were essentially an extension of the infamous slave codes (which may be another thing you want to look up if you're not familiar). The main goal of these laws was to prevent the enslaved Black population from learning how to read or write in any form.  This is a short video that gives a deeper breakdown of how they were structured and enforced, as well as the educational impact.

  • LIFESTYLE TIP:  Wanting to experiment beyond food in the kitchen? Well, here's a chance for you to get cre8tive, and spruce up your cocktail game with one (or all) of these 21 Summer Cocktails!

  • FEEL GOOD SHARE: In a world weighted with so much sadness and despair- this video of this little boy showing his genuine kindness and gratitude brought me so much joy. I hope it does that for you as well.

A friend of mine shared this quote the other day, and I have been deeply ruminating on it ever since...Within its simpleness and brevity of words, the weight of its thought holds so much. Especially, when you think upon the cycles of life...how patterns are created, how levels of understanding are achieved, how people treat others, how trauma effects psyche, and a myriad of other things...The repair work isn't always fun, and doesn't always feel good. And, it can quite often be a scary place...But, there is a sense of "magic" and beauty that can take place within that transformational process. That breaking of chains and cycles that have held one captive.

*This is reshare from my @e101 IG post from yesterday that I thought would still be a relevant share for here too (especially, since I'm still thinking about it).

This week's challenge is to think about a pattern that continually shows up in your life that might need some repairing.
