The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) is pleased to announce that it will award scholarships to support the travel of selected palliative care workers to attend the XI Congress of the Latin American Association for Palliative Care (ALCP) in Cartagena, Colombia, on March 6-9, 2024. The deadline to apply for an IAHPC scholarship is December 15th, 2023. Results will be announced mid-January 2024.
Applicants from all disciplines are welcome to apply. Only applicants who meet the following criteria will be eligible for a scholarship. They must
- be a current IAHPC member. Non-IAHPC members may join/renew through the membership section in the IAHPC website, and
- their membership should be current through the final day of the conference (March 9, 2024)
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Have an accepted abstract for poster / oral presentation. The IAHPC will contact event staff to verify.
- Have been an IAHPC member for two or more consecutive years.
- Live in the region/continent where the event is taking place.
- Are full-time palliative care workers.
- Have not received grants from IAHPC in the past 3 years.
- Live in Low- or Middle-income countries, as per the World Bank income classification data.
- Whose institution is listed in the IAHPC Directory of Institutions and Organizations.
- Whose institution is an IAHPC institutional member.
- Graduated less than 10 years ago from university.
Important notes:
- This program funds travel and registration only. Applicants need to secure funding from other sources to cover additional expenses.
