Hopefully you already know that PPFF Chapters are a busy bunch. But did you know that several of them publish regular newsletters to let you know just how busy and, of course, encourage you to lend a hand to the causezzz/
The most recent ones to land in our inboxes are from the Friends of Worlds End and the Friends of Oil Creek. Find them (and the others) at the About Us/PPFF Chapters page of the website. At that page you will also find the new "Help Wanted" link where a few of the Friends have already shared their specific need to fill board/leadership positions. People think these are difficult and so may be intimidated at the thought of holding an office but, in truth, you'll find all of the Friends welcoming and grateful for your willingness to serve.
Two sad items were shared by the Friends of Oil Creek in their Winter issue - Peg & John Sims (Peg, the long time chair of the group) after 11 years will no longer be providing cross country ski trail grooming services to the park's ski trails through their business Sun Valley Nordic. In addition, the PA Biathlon Club has made the decision to discontinue the Oil Creek and Altoona biathlons so August 2023 will be the final race at Oil Creek. Check out the newsletter for an announcement for a final race series promotion.
