But first . . . I have lots of announcements.  I've been writing up a storm. Literally! For my publisher.  For myself.  A mystery.  A suspense.  A laundry list.  LOL  I've never felt more creative.   Writing sure is keeping my mind in full gear, which makes solving a "Connection" or "Quordle" puzzle that much easier.  Ha!   Do you play or do puzzles?  I love them.  Maybe that's why I like writing mysteries, too. There is always a whodunit to solve. 

So what's the first news to share?  If you didn't know, I have worked with many different publishers over the years. I'm still involved with all of them to some degree, if only to receive royalty payments.  Anyway, the publisher who put out the last 7 of the Cookbook Nook Mysteries and my Aspen Adams novels of suspense has decided to make a boxed set of the suspense novels.  Yay!  That means, for those who have yet to read them, you can get all three (e-book only) for a killer price!  $9.99  That's less than $4 a book.  Check it out.

Have you ever worked on a passion project?  I have a couple of times now.  Ono a few of my suspense novels.  My Christmas romance.  Books I absolutely had to write.  I'm so thrilled to be a writer and able to share stories with you.  

Just so you know, entertainment is my goal . . . not elucidation. I'm smart and I'm spiritual, but I would never take on the challenge of educating anyone on the finer points of life.   I leave that to the Toni Morrisons of the world.  Bless them all.

Accidental Murder is one of these passion projects.  Where did the idea originate?  Well, I love my sister (we are 4 years apart) and I admire her when it comes to the way she can navigate a computer, the Internet, and so much more.  She's a geek in all the best senses of the word. She is also a motorcycle enthusiast.  Though my sister is not completely like my protagonist, she is the person I based the character on.  She must solve the death of her sister.   (No, not me.)

I'm listening to the audio of NIGHTSHADE, the first in Michael Connelly's new series featuring a cop on Catalina Island.  So far, I'm really enjoying it.  I loved his Bosch series.  

Next up, Krista Davis's latest in the Domestic Diva Mysteries, THE DIVA POACHES A BAD EGG.  I love Sophie and all her pals.  Whenever I read Krista's books, I feel I've returned home to a town I love.  

Lastly, I just finished PREQUEL by Rachel Maddow, a historical recount about the rise of fascism in the first half of the 20th century.  If I’d been able to “listen” to history when I was a girl, I would’ve enjoyed it a ton more.  This was fascinating.  

It's almost summer so it's a perfect time for a barbecue.  You enjoy tasty appetizers, right?  This recipe is from MURDER BY THE MILLIONS, the next book in the Literary Dining Mysteries which comes out in October. I'm sharing the recipe early because, well, why not?  It's mine to share.  Deviled eggs are divine, and with a dash of vinegar?  Perfection.  Enjoy.

Deviled Eggs

(Yield: 12 halves

• 6 eggs, hardboiled, cooled and halved
• ¼ cup mayonnaise
• 1 teaspoon white vinegar
• 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
• ⅛ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
• Paprika for garnish

Let 6 eggs come to room temperature.

Meanwhile, bring 6 cups of water to boil in a saucepan. When the water is boiling, turn it down to medium low, and lower the eggs slowly into the water.  If you do it too fast, they will crack.  Boil for 9 minutes and remove immediately from water. Set aside to cool.

When the eggs are cooled, slice in half and remove the egg yolks from the whites.  Set the whites on a serving plate.  In a small bowl, mash the yolks and add to the filling.

Add the mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper to the filling.  Pipe or scoop the filling into the egg white halves.

Dust with paprika, as desired.

Sparky is doing great!  He's full of pep.  And his teeth are much better because I've finally bitten the bullet, and I'm wrapping gauze on my finger and brushing them.  He hates that.  But look at him smiling now?  Such a proud boy.
