Summit Journal
For a while we had a glut of indie mountain climbing magazines and then – post-pandemic – we had none. But there’s been a rebirth and we now have Summit Journal, a reincarnated version of a vintage US climbing magazine now focused more on the soul of climbing through imaginative storytelling rather than breathtaking photography, but there’s plenty of the latter. Remembrance is the theme of this Spring issue which asks readers who is remembered and who is forgotten, what are the details of a that climb stay in your memory and which ones fade, and so on. The life and death of legendary Belgian free climber Claudio Barbier is retold, US-based UK climbing guide Nick Yardley recalls how a bucket list trip led him to his current life and there is a photo-essay on the revitalised Yosemite climbing scene.

Under The Same Sky at Sandra Higgins Art Gallery, 4 - 28 March
The Wilderness Art Collective and Sandra Higgins Art presents Under the Same Sky, the first of three exhibitions taking place across 2026 under a shared and expansive theme. Opening on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at Sandra Higgins Art in the heart of Bath, this new exhibition reflects on the idea that all life exists beneath the same sky, a unifying presence that connects us across place, culture and experience.
Artists have responded freely to the title, resulting in a rich and varied exhibition rooted in the natural world. Through painting, drawing and mixed media, the works on display explore changing horizons, fleeting light, environmental awareness, and the quiet continuity that binds all living things.

Join the
team at Roseberry Road Studios on 6th March for An Evening with Nicolette
featuring a Q&A and live performance of two new album tracks.
Nicolette burst onto the
music scene in 1990 with Shut Up and Dance,
when their debut single School of the World / Single Minded

followed, leading to her acclaimed first album ‘Now Is

their studio, resulting in Nicolette co writing and singing on ‘Sly’ and ‘Three’ from
the platinum selling ‘Protection’ album.
By 1995 she had signed to
Gilles Peterson’s Talkin Loud label and released ‘No

one Live Rent Free In Your Head’ landed in 1996. Alongside
this, Nicolette collaborated with forward thinking artists and began DJing

her own imprint Early Records. Her third album ‘Life
Loves Us’ arrived in 2005. She has since appeared on DJ Cam’s
album Love and featured

Hospital charity celebrates 20 years of sponsored walk
RUHX, official charity of the Royal United Hospitals Bath, is hosting its 20th
annual sponsored Walk of Life on Saturday 23 May 2026.
The Walk of Life started in 2006 thanks to sisters Nic and Ness who were both determined to raise funds to improve cancer facilities at the RUH.
Since the event began, walkers have raised over £875,000 for the hospital. This year, the charity is calling on more local people to get involved and hopes to raise over £125,000 to make the total raised at the Walk of Life more than £1million.
The Walk of Life follows the Kennet & Avon canal from Bishops Cannings (near Devizes) to Bath, with walkers able to choose between walking the full 26.2 mile marathon distance or a 16 or 10 mile distance.
Entry is £20 for adults or £8 for children, which includes a t-shirt, refreshments along the route, and a lunchtime BBQ kindly provided by Rapid Relief Team UK.
To celebrate 20 years, RUHX also hopes more people will get involved by signing up to the free ‘do it at home’ option, that allows supporters to choose their own distance, route and date any time in May.
From 7.30am - 8pm, 23 May | Walkers can sign up by visiting ruhx.org.uk/walk.

The property is approached via a pillared gate and driveway on Tyning End, with newly laid limestone paving leading to the front porch and the side access.
The house has been sympathetically extended to the side and rear and it sits in an elevated plot which has easily manageable gardens to the front and rear.
The covered entrance porch leads to the welcoming entrance hall where stairs rise to the upper floor and the hall splits to the main reception rooms and into the new extension where there is the study or ground floor bedroom, stylish shower room and utility room with a door to the rear garden. The bay-fronted sitting room is south facing and opens to the dining room and in turn the well-appointed kitchen.
