Today we are three weeks into Hispanic Heritage Month, which started on September 15th – the anniversary of the date five Hispanic countries declared independence. It is a period meant for recognition, education, and celebration of the history and experiences of Hispanic people, and their rich cultural contributions to this country.
We also honor the life and legacy of an American hero – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg – who passed away on September 18th. RBG, as she is affectionately remembered, worked tirelessly to further women's rights and to promote gender equality. We will never forget your sage advice to "Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."
