Help us spread the word about Next on our #SayNOtoNext Action Saturday

Waltham Abbey Community Campaigns

Hi ,

Our Week of Action to raise awareness about the Next.plc planning application is nearly at an end. Between leafleting, taking the banner out every morning and evening, social media and the local press we've got the message out to thousands of people.

To round the week off we're holding a #SayNOtoNext Action Saturday in Waltham Abbey town centre tomorrow, 21st July.

We'll have stalls and leafleters on Sun Street and outside Tesco from 11am - 1pm and are holding a rally from 2pm by the library and museum.

We could do with more volunteers to help out.

If you could spare an hour or so on our Sun Street stall or leafleting outside Tesco please let us know via this form, or come along to our Sun Street stall at 10.30:

If you're appalled by the plans why not say a few words at our rally? The more voices the better!

Support from Cambridge University students

Part of the land which Next plan to build on is owned by Cambridge University's Trinity Hall.

In a post to our Facebook group Cambridge Zero Carbon Society has said,

"We're really sorry that you are having to face Trinity Hall like this, and we act in solidarity with you.

"We've started spreading news and information about this development around Trinity Hall, and will soon share it from our Zero Carbon page. We're currently working with Trinity Hall students to organise around this. Even though it's difficult to organise in the holidays, we think we'll get good exposure on this issue and on Trinity Hall."
