New research from Florida State University scientists has found that urban areas throughout the Florida peninsula are experiencing shorter, increasingly intense wet seasons relative to underdeveloped or rural areas.

FSU College of Social Work celebrates 100 years of scholarship and service

The FSU College of Social Work celebrated 100 years during a gala April 7. The origins of the college date back to 1918 when the university was the Florida State College for Women and faculty members such as Raymond Bellamy — founder of the Department of Sociology — began teaching courses in social welfare. This strong beginning provided the bedrock for social work programs at Florida State University, including the development of the BSW, MSW and Ph.D. programs. FSU a cappella group All-Night Yahtzee prepares for NYC competition

This Thursday, FSU's All-Night Yahtzee is heading to New York City for the ICCA finals at the Beacon Theatre, where they’ll perform a set to compete against 250 colleges in front of an audience of 3,000. Read more: Tallahassee Democrat

April 20-28: Days of Dance

Florida State University’s School of Dance presents two different programs full of exciting works highlighting both student and faculty work. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, and will run through Saturday, April 28, at the Nancy Smith Fichter Dance Theatre in Montgomery Hall. This is a ticketed event.
