Our students’ transition from 6th grade to 7th grade within PRiSM is a BIG transition! We realize that and want to partner with our parents well throughout every phase of their child’s life. To set everyone up well for this transition, it would be helpful to make sure you are aware of exactly what we’re doing and why.
Beginning in 7th grade, we start to integrate our students into the regular rhythms of our church community as a whole. While we still have a student-focused program for students and their peers on Wednesday nights, we program less and less for them on Sunday mornings in order to do this well.
Studies show that involvement in all-church worship services throughout middle and high school is more consistently linked with a mature faith in young adults than any other form of church participation!
We take that seriously and want to help you and your student make this transition well.
So we have developed a 4 Week Sunday Morning Elective that is specifically for our incoming 7th graders.
This elective will run on four consecutive Sunday mornings at 10:30am. Each session will begin in the student center.
June 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th our incoming 7th graders are invited to join us for orientation around all things PRiSM.
Some main topics include:
-PRiSM Small Groups And The Wednesday Night Experience
-My Place In Worship Services
-How Do I Use And Study My Bible Well?
-How Can I Begin Leading And Serving In My Church?
Parents, there is simply nothing more important for your incoming 7th grader this summer!
We do hope you can prioritize getting them there for this!
