In less than two days, 108 members of the Purdue Crew team will board two coach busses, its coaches will step into the the driver's seats of trucks pulling two rowing shell and two launch trailers, and the team will motor down to Tennessee for a week of spring training two-a-day practices and memory making at John Knox Center on Watts Bar Lake.
After a week of training and countless meters, the team will leave Tennessee early morning on Saturday, March 18th to head north to our first race of the season against our longtime rivals Marietta College, the University of Dayton, and Duquesne University. We welcome any interested supporters to join us at this first regatta! While the exact racing schedule hasn't yet been finalized, the Coaches/Coxswains Meeting is expected to start at 11am EST, and racing is expected to begin at 12pm and finish by 4:30pm. The location of the race will be at Eastwood Metro Park - 1385 Harshman Rd Dayton, OH 45431. A picture of the race course and where Purdue's trailer and athletes will be located, as well as pictures of the camp we'll be staying at over spring break training are below.
While the team won't be hosting a full parents club food tent at this regatta, as we're on our way home and won't have our food trailer with us, we DO welcome any Gatorade/water/snacks/etc... supporters are interested in providing for the team.
