It's hard to believe it's August already! A warning to all you young people reading this--be prepared for time to speed up as you grow older! I know it's against the laws of physics, but I swear it's true. I remember how long it took to become old enough for a driver's license or old enough to legally buy a drink. Now, every season speeds by, and before long I'll be complaining about being cold instead of complaining about the heat!
BTW, I'd like to congratulate two of my readers that I've been told won a free book in the Kevin Chapman giveaway posted in my July newsletter. Congrats, Arlene and Jan! I hope you enjoy his books as much as I did when I read them.
So, what have I been doing besides complaining about the heat and bemoaning the fact that time flies? Well, I've been working on the sixth Top Shelf book, but thanks to that time thing, I'm not as far along as I'd like to be. I have a side gig editing for three authors, and sometimes they load me down (which I love). But I've decided I will release the book (titled On the Rocks) in October. That seems appropriate since the book takes place at the end of October, plus that should give me plenty of time to finish it. And setting a date is the best way I know to build a fire under me.
I hope to have the book on preorder soon, but until then, read on for some great deals and steals on books by my author friends and me, as well as a reminder of two book fairs that are still ongoing. Enjoy the rest of summer and try to stay cool.
