Welcome to our July Newsletter. 

We are STILL OPEN and STILL TAKING ORDERS. We are hoping that by the end of this month we will start to welcome our staff back into the office on reduced hours in line with the UK government guidelines.

We would like to thank all our customers over the past 3 months for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. We have managed to be able to send the majority of our orders out within 10 working days of orders being received, we know the post has been slow, especially for international orders, but things are getting better. The biggest hold ups seem to be at the US border so if you are in the USA things are taking a lot longer to reach you, please be patient, as it is completely out of our control.

As Golden Hinde is a small business and the only person now working at the company during this time is Sarah, this has meant that we have had to stop telephone calls, change how we run classes and Sarah is also putting together and sending out orders.

We are delighted to announce that we have a brand new kit that is now available. This new kit is a beautiful rainbow and will also be our first charity kit, the Kit is available to order now. Order here 

We are delighted that £10 of each kit sold will be donated to 2 of our nominated charities, NHS Charities together and St Rocco's Hospice which is a local charity who offer end of life care in our local community and we love to support them whenever we can. In addition we are doing a stitch along for this kit  on our Youtube channel,  These videos will go live on Thursday 9th July, this has been announced on our Social media channels, please go follow our YouTube channel to receive notifications and to stitch along with Sarah. You will need to purchase the kit to stitch along, however the videos will remail on our YouTube channel.

We had the opportunity to be featured on Hochanda back in May. 

We have been asked back and will be featured again on 4th July at 5pm, so why not watch us on Sky channel 673, Freeview channel 85 or via https://www.hochanda.com/ 

Sarah will actually be live on the show this Saturday so please tune in, she will be sharing lots of best practices and hints and tips. We have several different products that will be available including some tools. 

As there is only myself (Sarah) in the office, orders will be put together and dispatched by me. As a result and to fit in with all other work i will only be dispatching on Wednesday and Friday, all post will only be sent standard 1st class - this is to reduce contact that we need to have with members of the postal service, i will be videoing me posting items as proof of postage. Please please be patient as the post service may also be slower and there maybe restrictions in individual countries, so if you are outside the UK please check how your local service is dealing with deliveries.

Please note that we work on a 10 working day turn around you will be sent an e-mail when your order is complete, if your order is urgent please send us an e-mail if we can send quicker we will but this is not guaranteed. 

For UK deliveries : 

Please allow 10 working days from date of dispatch for delivery, this is a timescale set be Royal Mail. Please do not e-mail to chase before this time as we will not be able to tell you anymore. 

Overseas:

We are aware that there have been delays in delivery, please allow at least 25 working days before contacting us. The procedure is different in each country and we know that USA has had long delays in customs at the US border. Please be patient. 

We have had to adapt the way that we are working, obviously we have social distancing in place and we cannot currently have classes in our studio. 

Not wanting our regular class members to miss out we have moved our classes on line, this seems to be working well and lets our class members to see and interact with each other. This is working very well ans we will continue to do this. 

We have 1 day courses and our retreat which were supposed to be held this Spring, we have moved them all into the autumn, this has been amended on the website if you would like to join us, you can check availability. 

Anyone already booked on courses have been contacted. 

We are still open and taking orders via our website, and we will continue to do this for as long as we can. We have lots of kits available, there is something for everyone whether you are a beginner, an expert, or if you just want something to keep you going through this strange time.  You can also buys all the threads, wires and fabrics that you need to create your own project or sampler. 

We are continually restocking so keep checking if you need something. 

To help relieve bordom we are hoping to be able to get some videos on our social media channels and Youtube. Possibly some stitch alongs and/or some stitch demonstrations. This should all be up and running soon so watch this space.

Knitting and stitch show  - we are awaiting information regarding the shows, we will update you as always with plans for bothe shows. The current dates set are below
