How to read this email

The next couple sections highlight features that callers find useful. Features that family members love are towards the bottom.

Getting started

All you need is a touch tone telephone that can call 1 (855) 464-6872. You don’t need a “smart” phone or any wizz-bang apps.

When you call, you’ll hear the services available in your area. Press the digit for the service that you want.

For example:
“Press 1 for a car to your home"

Most folks use us for transportation. After awhile people notice we do other things too! Depending on where you live, we can help you get groceries, meals and more.

You can press zero at any time to speak with an operator. We’re available 24/7 The operators are passionately dedicated "Professional Grandchildren" doing their best to make you proud.

Taking your first ride

Step One

Call 1 (855) 464-6872 at least 15 minutes before you want to get picked up. Listen to the menu and press the digit that does what you want to happen.

Press 1 for a car to your home.
Press 2 for a car to where we dropped you off last.

Press 0 to speak with an operator

Step Two

Stay on the line. we'll match you with a driver within two minutes (usually 30 seconds) and tell you the driver's name, car color, make/model and the last three digits of their license plate.

Step Three

KEEP YOUR CELL PHONE NEAR YOU. Turn the ringer all the way up and keep the line free in case your driver needs to reach you. We’ll call you when they’re 4 min away. It's not mandatory to have a cell phone to use GoGoGrandparent, but if you don't have one, be sure to tell us when you register and a Professional Grandchild will help you figure out the best option.

Contact your driver directly by calling 1 (855) 464-6872 and pressing 3 at any time. 

A few common questions

Can I cancel my ride?

Yes, you can cancel your ride by pressing 9. During periods of normal demand, you have five minutes to cancel your ride for free. If it’s been longer than five minutes or if demand is higher than normal, a cancelation fee of $5 - $10 is charged. When the driver arrives, they'll call you three times, then GoGoGrandparent will call you two times. If you're nowhere to be found, whatever the cancellation fee is in your area will be applied. 100% of the fee goes to compensate the driver for their time.

How much does it cost?

These rides are usually up to 35% the cost of a cab. We’ll quote you the fare every time you call. The rate may change when demand is high, but it’ll only take a few minutes to go back to normal. We will call you to tell you how much was charged to your card after the trip, or we'll email you if you have an email attached to your account.

Who are the drivers and do I tip them?

We subcontract drivers from popular ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. We communicate with driver's to insure they are prepared to offer extra assistance and we blacklist drivers that do not perform up to our standards. You do not tip the drivers, except in the rare case where you ask them to lift something up, like a walker or groceries. Though not guaranteed, most drivers are happy to make multiple stops and open doors.

Features for family members

It's a family affair

GoGoGrandparent was originally made for our cofounder's grandma as a tool to help him take care of her from far way. 

Since then our goal has become much more ambitious: we're going to use technology to help older adults live in their home affordably for as long as possible.

Text Notifications

You will get text notifications whenever your loved one is on the move. You can communicate with the Professional Grandchild overseeing the ride at anytime, and with the driver while the ride is in progress. Eventually we'll start sending higher level alerts if it looks like your loved is taking unexpected trips.

Customized Pickup Locations

You can customize your loved one's dial tone menu. '1' is home and '2' is last location, but you can set up '3', '4' and '5' for destinations they start from over and over again.

Scheduled Rides

Rest easy knowing you can plan trips in advance so that you don't have to rely on their memory to order a ride to a critical medical appointment.
