Dear GNN faithful,
It is good to be back from Nepal, but oh what a great trip it was! Our GNN 10th Anniversary Celebration was a huge success, with over 200 people attending. It was so good to see some of our very first pastors and to meet many of our most recent ones too. Some you might remember from past Newsletters - Rupsee, big baby, the pastor who crawls, and my old friend Santa who is deaf but still sings and dances his heart out for the Lord!
I got a chance to stay right at our GNN Training Center, which afforded me the time to meet many guests and also to be with our 11th batch of students who started their 6 month training the first of November. What a group of Christians, 22 men and 2 women strong. Every day started with prayer at 5am with classes all day long. I stayed for 1 week there, also doing administrative work with our staff to check on our ministry. I noticed 2 important things.
One, our staff is growing in maturity and fervor for Almighty God. This includes Prabajan Upadahay, Deepak Sing, Avishek Nepali, Avishek Upadahay, Danbahadur BK, Roshan Khatri, and Sushila Shahi. God is blessing us!
Two, as I looked out over the crowd at the Celebration, I noticed families! From 10 years ago with just a few converts to 2024, blessed with whole Christian families of the second-generation children! In only 10 years! God is truly guiding us with the Spirit of God.
During the week we were also blessed to be able to hand out gifts given from Samaritans Purse. The children loved them, including neighborhood Hindu children!
Pastor Philip and I flew back to Kathmandu and were able to meet Missionary Yakhuv Guring and family, and Country leaders from CRU, The Gideons, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Samaritans Purse, and Kathmandu Valley political leaders.
After our Celebration, Good News Nepal pastors went out to high country, Humla, on a mission trip, one of many sponsored by Maranatha Bible Conferences. Its Saturday the 7th of December as I write this Newsletter, and already 20 people have received Jesus as Lord and Savior! I was remiss in reporting that when we were in Kathmandu, 7 people received Jesus after the service at the GNN Church KTM! The church of God is growing fast, and all glory goes to God!!!
Love in Christ,
Dave
