Happy Women’s History Month !

Here are some picture books celebrating women for you to share with the little ones in your life:

Of course there's no need to wait until March to celebrate women; these picture books are favorites the whole year round in our home.

Speaking of badass women, last week I found out that I know not one, but TWO writers on the New York Time's Bestseller List: Patricia Engel & Naima Coster!

(Shout out to my husband who let me know. He's keeping me in the literary loop during my Lenten social media break).

I'm proud to report I did my small part to propel their books onto the list by preordering them (did you know all preorders are counted as part of launch week sales? Now you know).

And this might sound strange, but seeing these two fierce Latinas, who I have SO MUCH love for, writing their ways onto the biggest literary stages makes me feel like I'm on the freaking NY Times Bestseller list -- without having to do all that hard work (lol).

I'm so grateful I had the chance to bond with Patricia at VONA when I was just dipping my toes into writing poems back in 2006.

And Naima and I have shared countless adventures since we met in DR in 2008, not to mention the fact that she and I share alumna status three times over (Prep for Prep, Yale & Fordham).
