Team work makes the dream work.
batman and superman

Tag yourself, I'm Batman (and also Superman).

One thing I've learnt in my time working for corporations is that regardless of how "solo" your title is, you end up working in/with teams, so often. It's slightly exhausting (and annoying) the number of shared Google Docs I'm a part of.

I've shared a few tools in this newsletter that touch on collaboration; from to-do lists, to team management. But today I'm going to talk about a tool that's far more interactive.

Also! Congrats to Steve S. (I am not censoring the last name, I just don't know it). I'll be emailing you your Amazon gift card code! Thank you to everyone who helped grow this newsletter.

Witeboard Homepage

I strongly believe I could end this tech-letter here and you would still get the message. But who am I if not someone who explains way more than required?

If you were looking for a very simple, straightforward, what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) tool that also lets you collaborate in real time with other users and also lets you share your creativity... first of all, that's way too specific so relax; but second of all, this one's for you.

Witeboard is exactly what the name suggests-- a whiteboard (or blackboard, depending on the mode you select). This online tool lets you collaborate with others instantly, without sign up required. You get to cross-platform collaborate, which is short for "You can use this on every device you own, simultaneously"; i.e. on your phone, while someone else is on their laptop, while someone else is on their tablet. All you really need is a browser.

Witeboard features

Witeboard offers very simple features, as highlighted in the image. A pencil tool, text, eraser, undo, and other shortcuts; circling back to the previous tech-letter, shortcuts really are everything. You can also choose whatever colour you like (multiple, too).

As far as collaboration goes, every new witeboard has its own URL that you can share with other users (there's no chance someone might "accidentally" stumble upon your work unless given a URL).

On the image above, take a look at the top right corner. There are two users present (this is exactly the same as your experience with any Google doc/sheet). One is me (the turtle in red), the other is the other user (a giraffe.. which is also me, just me in another browser).

You can give this witeboard a title (bottom left). You can save it as an image; and if you do decide to create an account (either connecting to your existing Google account or creating an account specific to this website), you'll get to save your "history" of past boards.

That's really it for this one! A very (very) simple tool to display your creative ideas while also working with others. Do note, you do not have to work with others; this can simply just be your private board if you need it to be.
