Workshop and Training Energy Efficiency: A Key Driver for Clean Energy Transition" focus on "Energy Efficiency and Cooling Technologies", 2-3 October 2017, Kuwait
Under the Patronage of the Minister of the Oil and the Minister of the Electricity and Water, Mr. Essam Al Marzooq, EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network in partnership with the Kuwait Society of Engineers and the College of Technological Studies - PAAET, are organising an EU-GCC Workshop and Training on Energy Efficiency and Cooling Technologies, to take place in Kuwait, on 2-3 October 2017. The event will focus on solutions and methodologies for the built environment.

Last days to apply for free exhibition and visibility under the Network pavilion at the Dubai Solar Show and WETEX, 23 – 25 October 2017, Dubai, UAE
The Network will have a strong presence at the Dubai Solar Show, part of WETEX taking place on 23-25 October in Dubai. The Network will host its own exhibition area at a prominent pace within the show and invites its members to apply their interest in promoting their services and offering under the umbrella of the Network. Desert Energy Leadership Summit 2017 is co-hosted by Dii, GEIDCO, Arab League and EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, 13-14 November 2017, Dubai, UAE
This year’s Summit will bring together global visionaries, regional and international industry leaders and political forces all in one place to discuss and debate the perspectives and practical implementations of the southern Mediterranean, European and West Asian interconnected power systems in the transition toward full sustainability.

Intersolar is the world’s leading exhibition series for the solar industry and its partners. In 2017, Intersolar organizes the most powerful solar conference in the MENA Region taking place in Dubai on September 26-27, 2017.
Within the framework of the conference, the EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network is organising a session entitled “Enablers for the Accelerated Integration of Renewable Energy Electricity” scheduled to take place on Wednesday 27 September 2017 at 13:30. “Kingdom Renewable Energy Summit 2017”, 18-19 October 2017, Riyadh, KSA
The Kingdom Renewable Energy Summit is scheduled to take place on 18 & 19 October 2017 in Riyadh, KSA.
This two-day summit has been developed to provide all the participating organizations with an exclusive insight into the Kingdom’s Renewable Energy Market and is an excellent opportunity to meet, network, exchange ideas and come up with real-time solutions to some of the region’s most pressing issues. The Network, supporting partner at the 7th Annual Smart Grids and Smart Meters Summit, 28-29 November 2017, Dubai, UAE
The 7th edition of the Smart Grids and Smart Meters Summit will take place in Dubai, UAE on 28 and 29 November 2017. The Network is among the supporting partners of the event. Dr. Mustapha Taoumi, Energy Technology Expert of the EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network is an invited speaker and will present “The role of smart grids and storage in integrating variable Renewable Energy sources.” More information on the summit is available here.

Annual Gulf Research Meeting, Workshop on "Smart Cities in the Gulf: Current State, Opportunities, and Challenges", 1-4 August 2017, Cambridge UK
The goal of this workshop was to explore the current state, opportunities, and challenges related to Smart Cities in the GCC. Scholars and decision makers discussed current challenges and practices adopted in Gulf cities. Promising and novel implementations of Smart City concepts were mapped and assessed.
Dr. Haris Doukas, Network’s Research Collaboration Specialist was an invited delegate and he made a presentation, entitled “Intelligent Energy Management within the Smart Cities: An EU-GCC Cooperation Opportunity”.

The Network team has developed and launched the EU-GCC Clean Energy Virtual Research Lab. It is a virtual lab-space within the Network's website, where Network members, in particular participating and contributing EU and GCC research institutes and laboratories, are able to share their resources, knowledge, information and material.
