In anticipation of the new release, the Asian Books Blog  invited me to write a guest blog post about my story. In it, I talked a bit about my writing process, and how Shanghai Story was conceived. You can read the post here.

Once again, thank you for continuing to be a part of my story world.

All the best,

Foreword to "Shanghai Story" by Author Roberta Kagan

I'm thrilled to tell you all that author Roberta Kagan had penned the Foreword to Shanghai Story. Roberta's Holocaust series, All My Love, Detrick; Michal’s Destiny; and I Am Proud to be a Jeware very popular among readers of WWII fiction. I'm honored that she is sharing her thoughts and insights on the subject of Jewish refugees fleeing Germany during WWII in my book.

If you haven't read Roberta's stories yet, you're in for a treat. The first book of the Michal's Destiny series will be available for free download today and tomorrow (May 15-16). Don't miss this chance for a wonderful read. Click on the book image to get your free copy or go this Amazon link.

You can find out more about Roberta and her novels at http://www.robertakagan.com.

Old Photo of the Bund from the 1930s

This is an old photo of the Bund in Shanghai. It was taken in the late 1930s and offers a view of what the setting of Shanghai Story was like. Notice that the Chinese men on the left wore a fedora and a Chinese style of clothing called tangzhuang. This was a common way Chinese men dressed at the time, and reflective of Chinese traditions and Western influence. You will notice in Shanghai Story that some of the characters were described to be wearing tangzhuang as well.
