Websites about Comics.

"As of 2019, the average daily social media usage of internet users worldwide amounted to 144 minutes per day, up from 142 minutes in the previous year."

-from Google.

If you're like me a great portion of those 144 minutes online is spent on one subject:

Comics!

I've spent years shuffling around from one site to another. A lot of them are fluff, stuffed with ads and difficult to read. Other sites don't have new content, you go to them months later and they're exactly the same as you last visited them.

A few notable online comic book related sites resonate with me. Here's a quick rundown:

The Comics Journal.

Published by Fantagraphic Books, The Comics Journal is a very well researched and informed website for all things in comics that you may have passed over. Not so much skewed towards Super Hero Marvel/DC story lines as a real decent overview of what's happening worldwide in the creative world as it relates to sequential images. I try to read over it at least once a week (Sundays are good).

Broken Frontier.

Started in the UK in 2002, Broken Frontier encompasses everything notable in Great Britain as well as all over Europe. There's a huge following to this site in Britain's indie comic book artist scene, as a lot of the contributors also make comics and host public events.

Bleeding Cool

Bleeding Cool is the one that gets the most press. If you're a big name in comics you get written up in Bleeding Cool. A bit ad-heavy, but you do get a well-rounded overview that's more industry related and will have the skinny on the latest about Batman or Spiderman.

Visit Bleeding Cool, click here.

The Beat.

Like Bleeding Cool, Comics Beat offers news and commentary about your favorite comic book, writer or artist that's happening now.

There. 4 websites that are all about comics that are very worth browsing!

Happy Holidays! See you Tuesday.
