Job Description: The Marketing Department at the School of Business is currently in the process of setting up our Course Assistant program for MKTG 3101. As a Course Assistant, your duties will include several activities pertinent to the instruction and management of the course MKTG 3101. The responsibilities will vary from no work in some weeks to time-sensitive work in other weeks (additional details in the job requirements) but will include the following:
- Reading and understanding assessment-related materials and attending training sessions
- Grading case memos and marketing plans, providing detailed feedback on course assignments, and answering student questions on course assignments via office hours / meetings / email communications
- Assistance with running the marketing behavioral lab
Job Requirements: Course Assistants are expected to act responsibly, upholding the integrity of the course and university. Based on these responsibilities, the candidate must possess the following attributes:
- Flexibility and ability to handle concentrated workloads with a fast turnaround time. There are four course assignments to be graded throughout the semester. Each assignment is expected to
be graded within a one-week turnaround time. The exact date of each assignment will differ by instructor and semester but are typically around: a) week 6-8, b) week 8-10, c) week 10-12, and d) week 16 (i.e., finals week).
- Exceptional time management skills – note the quick turnaround time required for grading.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide constructive, detailed
feedback.
- Ability to mentor students while maintaining complete confidentiality.
- Ability to work individually and take the initiative as needed.
Credentials to Apply:
- Successful completion of MKTG 3101/BADM 3750 with a minimum grade of A-
- Proven academic success in other courses; minimum GPA of 3.2
