HOPE VILLAGE - TINY HOUSING ALTERNATIVES, INC. RECEIVES $250,000 PABLO FOUNDATION GRANT
Hope Village: Changing lives one tiny house at a time
Chippewa Falls, WI (Nov. 17, 2022) - Hope Village is one step closer to fulfilling its fundraising goal of $2.7 million for the Welcome Home Capital Campaign, thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Pablo Foundation.
"We are blown away by the generosity of the Pablo Foundation and their award to the Welcome Home Campaign. This funding level will allow us to continue to move forward with our plans to provide affordable housing for our community and provide Hope Village with the means of becoming a self-sustaining organization,” says Mike Cohoon, co-founder and director of Hope Village. “The confidence the Pablo Foundation has shown in Hope Village speaks to their understanding of the local landscape and the need for affordable housing in the Chippewa Valley.”
The grant will help fund Phase III of the Welcome Home Capital Campaign, which includes construction of multi-unit transitional and permanent housing, an outdoor pavilion, a workshop and playground area.
“Hope Village has consistently put at the forefront of its tiny home mission two important Pablo principles: financial sustainability and environmental sustainability,” says MaiVue Xiong, Pablo Foundation’s Executive Director. “By utilizing volunteer labor and recycled materials as the main building blocks of its tiny homes, Hope Village has also shown its commitment to building healthy communities. We are excited about Hope Village’s leadership and its extension of these values to the multi-unit transitional and permanent housing complexes.”
Since opening its first tiny house in 2016, Hope Village has built 11 tiny homes and provided service to more than 100 families and individuals in need of temporary housing alternatives.
