October 2025 was an action-packed month for Pakistan’s tech ecosystem, and P@SHA was at the heart of it all! From showcasing Pakistan’s innovation at GITEX Global Dubai to making a mark at Oslo Innovation Week and TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco, our delegation proudly represented the country’s growing digital power on the global stage.
We signed key MoUs with PIKOM Malaysia, HUB47, and Gym Passport, strengthening cross-border collaboration and opening new avenues for our members. Our participation in the Ministry of Commerce’s Sectoral Council on IT & E-Commerce further reinforced P@SHA’s role in driving policy dialogue and enabling growth across the IT & ITeS sector.

P@SHA successfully held its Adjourned Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 on October 17, 2025, at Daftarkhwan Vanguard, Islamabad, with members joining both onsite and online.
The meeting featured a review of P@SHA’s Annual Operational and Financial Performance (2024–2025), a Chairman’s Address, and open discussions on key industry matters.
Members also networked and shared insights on strengthening Pakistan’s ICT sector.

P@SHA Delegation Showcases Pakistan’s Tech Potential at GITEX Global 2025, Dubai
P@SHA’s delegation made a powerful mark at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, highlighting Pakistan’s innovation, collaboration, and growing influence in the global tech ecosystem.
The week began with a Pre-GITEX Networking Meetup hosted by Sherdil Cloud, where P@SHA representatives — including Chairman Sajjad Syed, Senior Vice Chairman Umair Nizam, CEC Members Sheikh Abdul Qadir and Usman Akbar, and Director Brand & Global Outreach Kheezran Khan, joined industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and delegates for meaningful networking and discussions ahead of GITEX.
The Pakistan Pavilion, inaugurated by Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, served as a hub for innovation and engagement. The delegation held productive meetings with global companies, investors, and ecosystem partners, exploring collaborations to boost Pakistan’s IT exports and global visibility.

P@SHA Delegation Showcases Pakistan’s Innovation at Oslo Innovation Week 2025
P@SHA, led by Director Brand & Global Outreach Kheezran Khan, represented Pakistan at Oslo Innovation Week 2025, engaging with global innovators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders. The delegation participated in insightful sessions on AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable innovation while highlighting Pakistan’s growing role in the global tech arena.
A major highlight was Pakistan Night, co-hosted by HBL, P@SHA, Tek Norge, and the Embassy of Pakistan in Oslo, graced by Ambassador Saadia Altaf Qazi, Kheezran Khan, and Jamil Goheer. The event celebrated collaboration and innovation between Pakistan and Norway.
The delegation also met with Ambassador Saadia Altaf Qazi to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new opportunities for partnership. Throughout the week, P@SHA showcased Pakistan’s innovation, creativity, and commitment to global collaboration, positioning the country as a rising player in the international digital ecosystem.

P@SHA Delegation Showcases Pakistan’s Tech Momentum at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025
The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) proudly represented Pakistan at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 in San Francisco marking a powerful week of innovation, collaboration, and global engagement.
The delegation, led by Sajjad Syed (P@SHA Chairman) and P@SHA CEC Members Dr. Sonia Saleem, Usman Akbar, and Sheikh Abdul Qadir, along with Director Brand & Global Outreach Kheezran Khan and P@SHA delegates, actively participated in a series of impactful events and discussions.
The week began with the HBL P@SHA x OPEN Silicon Valley Networking Meetup at Plug and Play Tech Center, where Pakistani tech leaders connected with global investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators to explore cross-border opportunities.
At TechCrunch Disrupt, the Pakistan Pavilion was inaugurated by Sajjad Syed and Abu Bakar (CEO, PSEB), symbolizing Pakistan’s growing role in the global digital economy. The delegation engaged in vibrant networking sessions and knowledge exchanges, showcasing the country’s innovation capacity and entrepreneurial energy.

This national-scale competition aims to mobilize students, startups, and professionals to develop AI-driven solutions addressing key national challenges across sectors such as healthcare, education, governance, fintech, and climate resilience.

P@SHA’s Engagement in the Ministry of Commerce’s Sectoral Council Meeting on IT & E-Commerce
The Ministry of Commerce convened a meeting of the Sectoral Council on IT & E-Commerce on October 22, 2025, chaired by Mr. Khuram Rahat, former Vice Chairman of P@SHA. The session was attended by Mr. Sajjad Mustafa Syed (Chairman P@SHA), Mr. Ali Abbas Hasani (Secretary General), Ms. Laraib Farhat (Manager Policy & Government Affairs), and Mr. Kashif Hussain (Research Lead). The agenda focused on soliciting stakeholder input for the Draft Exports Enhancement Roadmap for the IT & E-Commerce Sector. During the meeting, Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed presented P@SHA’s strategic priorities for IT export growth, emphasizing four key pillars: Market Access, Fiscal Policies, Physical & Digital Infrastructure, and Skills Development. He underscored the need for increased global visibility through enhanced trade delegations, streamlined visa facilitation for business mobility, and amendments to PPRA rules to empower local IT firms under the “Make in Pakistan” initiative. He also advocated for predictable fiscal policies, particularly extending the Final Tax Regime (FTR) for IT exports until 2035, and proposed harmonization of provincial taxation frameworks. Highlighting digital infrastructure as a growth enabler, he called for implementation of single-window systems via STZAs, improvement in internet stability and global compliance standards, and revision of the Data Protection Act to align with international norms. Lastly, he stressed a three-tiered talent development strategy focused on current, emerging, and long-term technological skills to ensure Pakistan’s sustained competitiveness in the global digital economy.

NICAT Roundtable 2.0 | Climate Emergency: From Awareness to Action
P@SHA participated in NICAT’s Roundtable 2.0 on Climate Emergency, convening sustainability experts, innovators, policymakers, academia, and industry leaders to move from climate awareness to concrete action. The discussion explored how education, collaboration, and technology-led solutions can reduce carbon footprints, build climate resilience, and embed sustainable practices across sectors in Pakistan and beyond.
P@SHA was represented by CEC Member Salman Dar, who underscored the importance of agritech integration as the backbone of food security, highlighting data-driven farming, climate-smart practices, and efficient supply chains. Laraib Farhat, Manager Policy and Govt. Affairs represented P@SHA as well, focusing on narrative building that centers indigenous languages and knowledge to preserve nature and ensure local resonance. She emphasized balanced mitigation and adaptation strategies and guided stakeholders on channeling climate finance transparently and effectively toward high-impact, community-led initiatives.

On 6th October, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, along with P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Syed and CEC Member & Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Dr. Sonia Saleem, attended the Pakistan-Malaysia TechConnect 2025 in Malaysia.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of regional collaboration, innovation, and strengthening Pakistan’s digital footprint on the global stage.
Representing Pakistan’s IT industry, Chairman Sajjad Syed highlighted in his address the importance of unity, collaboration, and knowledge exchange to strengthen the digital economies of both nations.
Both Chairman Sajjad Syed and Dr. Sonia Saleem also engaged in meaningful discussions and networking sessions, reinforcing the role of inclusive and collaborative efforts in driving sustainable digital transformation.

On 7th October, P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Syed was warmly welcomed by Ong Kian Yew, CEO of PIKOM, where they had a productive meeting at the PIKOM Office in Malaysia. Also present were Stan Singh, Chairman of ASOCIO, and Frederick Chong, PIKOM/ASOCIO Secretariat.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration, knowledge exchange, and building stronger regional partnerships between Pakistan, Malaysia, and the wider Asia-Pacific tech community.

On October 15th, P@SHA had a productive meeting with HBL in Dubai to discuss potential areas of collaboration and mutual facilitation. The discussion brought together P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Syed, Director Brand & Global Outreach Kheezran Khan, Farhan Talib (Head International Banking, HBL), and Tipu Raza (National Sales Head IT–ITeS & Freelance Business, HBL).
The meeting focused on strengthening the partnership between P@SHA and HBL by supporting IT companies, enhancing payment facilitation for the tech sector, and identifying joint initiatives that can deliver strategic value to Pakistan’s technology sector.

National Curriculum Review Committee Meeting
The P@SHA Skills Team participated in the National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) meetings held from 30 September to 4 October in Karachi, hosted by HEC and supported by the British Council. The team presented key findings from the Skills Survey Report 2025, highlighting evolving industry demands and the need to align academic curricula with market-driven digital skills. The five-day review focused on updating higher education programs to equip graduates with relevant competencies for Pakistan’s IT and digital sectors. The revised curriculum has been finalized, and the final report shared with P@SHA for expert feedback and recommendations.

KP Job Fair 2025
The skills team successfully launched the KP Digital Futures Job Fair, a collaboration of the Higher Education Department and Government of KP with PAF-IAST, scheduled for 20th November, at the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule campus, Haripur.
The event convenes over 5,000 prepared candidates for direct engagement with top employers across the digital economy, such as software houses, outsourcing companies, and tech startups.
This job fair provides a unique opportunity to directly network with the decision makers including government, academia and international employers, enabling access to Pakistan's brightest talent, enhancing the employer's branding and contributing to the future of work.

In October 2025, P@SHA, in collaboration with the British Council, actively promoted and circulated the registration form for the upcoming Corporate English Solutions Webinar. Scheduled for November 5th, 2025, the session aims to engage participants from Pakistan’s corporate and academic sectors. It will introduce three key learning pathways: English Online Self-Study, English for Work, and Professional Skills, designed to enhance communication and employability.

On 9th October, 2025 P@SHA participated in the curriculum review meeting conducted by CEGA (Centre of Excellence for Games and Animation) in Islamabad. A project, launched by IGNITE and implemented by the Hum News Group, builds on years of efforts by the P@SHA Games and Animation Committee. During the review, P@SHA provided key insights on the core games and animation courses to ensure alignment with industry needs and global standards, reinforcing its commitment to shaping relevant and future-ready training for the sector.
