Hey, readers!

This week was exciting for me, as the Austin City Council voted to pass an agreement to bring Major League Soccer to Austin.

I don't talk about this much, but I played soccer for 12 years so I'm a BIG soccer fan, and could not be more excited to have an MLS team located here.

It'll be a couple years before the stadium is built, but I'm here for it and rooting them on!

Writing updates

As for writing updates, I've been hard at work on book 2 in the new sci-fi mystery series. Approaching end-of-first-draft territory now, and trying to power through to get it done this month.

(Yes, I'm being vague about the new project on purpose because there's still a lot of work to do. The plan is to write three books in a series before the first one is even released. This is a new approach for me, but one that I hope will make readers happy and find success for the series.)

Once this book goes to my editor, I'll switch gears to work on another project, a space opera I dreamed up this month. With luck, I'll have several new books for you very soon.

I'm not sure about launch dates yet—too many moving pieces at this point—but I want you to know that I'm not sleeping on you! I'm head down, working, every day.

Speaking of space opera, you know how I love a good space opera series?

This week's reading recommendation

Archangel Down is a first-in-series, character-driven space opera you won't want to put down.

In the year 2432, humans think they are alone in the universe.

They’re wrong.

When a naval commander is interrogated and imprisoned for a crime she didn't commit...

And a professor wakes up with no memory of the last 24 hours...

They must find each other, and then work together to save the lives of millions.

The universe depends upon it.

Check out the Archangel Down by C. Gockel. First book is free on all retailers.

Enjoy!
