76 endangered turtles returned home in northern Vietnam

We have just completed our fourth release of tortoises and freshwater turtles for 2020, with our team working from the 7^th to 9^th of September 2020 to return This release involved 25 endangered Big-headed Turtles (Platysternon megacephalum) and 51 endangered Four-eyed Turtles (Sacalia quadriocellata), the Four-eyed Turtles were offspring hatched from our conservation breeding efforts at the Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) in Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh Province.

Interview survey to find remaining Swinhoe’s softshell turtle in Lang Son province, northern Vietnam

From the 26^th June to 7^th July 2020, a field team from the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo-Myanmar Conservation (IMC) conducted an intensive interview survey in Lang Son province, northern Vietnam, to seek new information for the world’s rarest turtle, Swinhoe’s Softshell Turtle (Rafetus swinhoei).

‘The Catfish and The Frog’? - Tadpoles of six Megophrys frog species identified and described for the first time in Vietnam

In two recently published papers in Zootaxa, tadpoles of 6 species of Asian Horned Frogs (genus Megophrys) have been found and described in Vietnam for the first time, thanks to amphibian surveys jointly conducted by the Asian Turtle Program of Indo-Myanmar Conservation, Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the Australian Museum and Hoang Lien National Park, Vietnam.

Interview survey to assess local awareness of Big-headed Turtles in Pu Mat National Park, Vietnam

From 18^th – 20^th of May 2020, the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo-Myanmar Conservation (IMC) worked with Pu Mat National Park (NP) in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, to undertake community interviews surveys in three communes in national park buffer zone. The surveys aimed to get a better understanding of local people’s awareness and attitudes towards the endangered Big-headed Turtles (Platysternon megacephalum).

Supporting the rescue of more than 100 endangered turtles at Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre, Vietnam

From the 12^th to 14^th of February 2020, staff of the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo Myanmar Conservation (IMC) made another regular visit to Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre (HWRC), Vietnam, to help the centre to deal with a large number of confiscated animals.
