Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
ARPA has expanded the Child Tax Credit (CTC) to offer nearly every family in the U.S. $3,600 annually for young children and $3,000 for older children, which will be issued in monthly payments. Your child will qualify for the expanded CTC if they are your son, daughter, grandchild, step-child, or adopted child. They will also qualify if they were under 17 at the end of the 2020 calendar year.
Over 60 million in families will receive the credit, but families who don’t earn enough to have to file taxes will miss out on this opportunity. These families must sign up to receive payments at getctc.org/ic. This tool is mobile friendly, and most families can complete it within about 15 minutes. Families must sign up by November 15, 2021 to get payments this year.
If you filed a tax return or received a stimulus check, you will automatically receive payments. If you’ve not filed a tax return, please visit getctc.org/ic.
