As the season grows, we will share a bit more-than-usual info here about new and returning producers, special events, and other news.
To note for this week 4/22:
- You'll find two brand new bi-weekly producers (coffee! nut butters!) + two new producers we introduced a couple of weeks ago (microgreens + herbal body care) — see details for each below.
- Local marshmallow maker Amos & Annie's returns for a one-week guest appearance this week...don't miss out!
- Taste of Puebla is bringing HOT tamales this Friday 🫔
- Flying Plow now has healthy, organic plants for your own vegetable and herb gardens, but keep a close eye on this crazy weather and protect them as needed 🌱
News for next week & beyond:
- Howe Sharp knife sharpening will be on site next Friday 4/29 🔪
- Spade & Trowel Garden Club will be giving away Eastern Redbud saplings next week for Arbor Day 🌳
- Canter Hill is away this week, returning on 4/29 for what will be their final market at Kennett Square. Unfortunately they have to step away due to time constraints and lack of help. We're so sad to lose them, but stay tuned for details about the farm who will be filling their spot starting May 6th.
- Many have been asking...Elizabeth & Douglas of Swallow Hill will be back in May!
Keep reading for who and what you'll find at market THIS Friday, along with how to preorder. We look forward to seeing from 3–6 PM at The Creamery!

Composting at Market?! |
|
|
|
We are excited to be talking with Wastewell, a local curbside compost collection service, about the potential for the market to be a home composting drop-off site.
So, how would this work? It's pretty simple!
- Purchase an empty 5-gallon Wastewell bucket for a nominal fee.
- Collect compostable food scraps in the bucket. Guidance about what is compostable would be provided.
- Dump your bucket at Wastewell's market stand for a $5 collection fee.
- Wastewell then delivers your compostables to their certified processing partner Kitchen Harvest, operating at Linvilla Orchards, where it is turned into nutrient-rich finished compost!
Read more about Wastewell's mission and the importance of composting here.
To help us understand if this is something our community would utilize, we would love your response to the brief survey below!

Stop by to welcome Alexander Costina to market bi-weekly from his Chadds Ford-based micro coffee roastery, Cookie’s Caffé (named for his pup!) Read more about Alex and how he got into coffee roasting. And a word from the roaster himself:
“For my debut week at the market, I’ll be bringing a range of different whole bean coffees from light roasts to dark roasts.
There will be two different blends: my current seasonal Hippity Hoppity light roast blend and my classic dark roast Espresso blend. I'll also have single origin options from Brazil, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, and Sumatra.
Check out my current full selection of coffees at my website, and you can order pre-ground coffee from there, too! I am not offering market pre-orders to start, but I do have free local delivery always available on my website to Chadds Ford/Kennett and $5 local delivery to farther away areas.”
