The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) is pleased to announce that it will be providing scholarships to support the participation of its members to the 7th International African Palliative Care (APCA) Conference on August 25-26, 2022 in Kampala, Uganda.
Deadline to apply for an IAHPC Scholarship is May 31st. Results will be announced in June. Applicants from all disciplines are welcome. In order to apply for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be current IAHPC members. If you wish to apply and are not an IAHPC member, you may join or renew your membership on the IAHPC website.
- Be current members at the time of the conference.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Live in a Low or Lower-Middle income country in Africa. Categories as per the World Bank income classification data can be viewed here.
- Have not received a grant from IAHPC in the past three years.
- Have been IAHPC active members for two or more consecutive years.
- Whose institution is also an IAHPC active member. To see institutional members, visit the IAHPC Members Website.
- Are dedicated full-time to palliative care in their current work.
- Graduated less than 10 years ago from university.
- Describe in their applications long term goals that lead to improvements in any or all of the following areas: service provision; education; availability of and access to medicines; public policy.
- Have an accepted abstract for a poster / oral presentation. Applicants do not need to have verification that their abstract has been selected to apply for the scholarship. The IAHPC will verify which abstracts have been selected with the conference organizers. The deadline to submit an abstract for the 7th International African Care Conference is April 1, 2022.
