Both Local ICBs Launch First Mandatory Health Campaign

All Community Pharmacies are required to participate in up to two ICB health campaigns each year. The ICBs in Norfolk and Suffolk have announced that the first campaign will focus on Reducing Medicines Waste.

All pharmacies across Norfolk and Suffolk have been sent information and resources from your ICB, and we advise all pharmacies to follow the instructions provided. Details for each ICB area will also be available at these links: Norfolk ICB information and SNEE ICB information.

Funding to Support Integration - Norfolk & Waveney Pharmacies

Primary Care Workforce has been able to allocate some funds to pharmacies/practices who are employing a newly qualified pharmacist or pharmacy technician to support their induction and integration into the workforce. The scheme has been run for other primary care professionals, and it is the first time that this has been run for pharmacists.

Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust are due to begin rolling out the Electronic Prescription Service during 2026

 As the rollout progresses across Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) prescriptions arriving via Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). 

EPS prescriptions will be sent directly to the patient's nominated pharmacies. From Monday, 1st December 2025, ahead of this rollout, the Trust will be piloting its use with its Adult ADHD team.

The introduction of EPS will deliver a more efficient medication prescribing and supply process, bringing several patient safety benefits, including increased visibility of prescriptions and more comprehensive interaction checks.

Update your NHS Profile Manager

Pharmacy owners do not have to give formal notice of closures on days specifically mentioned in the Regulations (namely Christmas day, New Year day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday) or a day specifically designated as a ‘bank holiday’ unless directed to open by NHS England (NHSE).

However, Pharmacy owners must keep their DoS profile accurate and complete this using the NHS Profile Manager  ensuring entries are accurate Quarterly, ie for the Christmas/New Year period (1st October – 31st December).

CPNS has produced a walkthrough video of how to register, log in, update pharmacy details, change opening hours, and update your pharmacy services on the NHS Profile Manager.

This workshop is a collaboration of N&W ICB – NHSE – CPNS and CPPE to empower Pharmacy Technicians to apply their skills and knowledge confidently and competently when using Patient Group Directions (PGDs) to deliver NHS services using contraception, emergency contraception and smoking cessation services as examples.

MOD to Use Paper FP10 Prescriptions from January

MOD to Use Paper FP10 Prescriptions from January, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) will issue paper FP10 prescription forms for all outsourced prescriptions from MOD medical facilities. These prescriptions will be reimbursed by the MOD.

Pharmacy teams should prepare to process FP10s under standard NHS procedures.
