On April 28, we gathered at ceremonies around New Brunswick to honour and remember those who have lost their lives, been injured or suffered illness due to work-related incidents. Thank you to everyone who attended a Day of Mourning service. Your presence is a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to creating safer workplaces for all. 

Supervisors play a key role in workplace safety—but not all understand their responsibilities. It's the employer’s duty to ensure supervisors are competent by assessing their knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and its regulations.

A supervisor is anyone authorized to direct or oversee work—from first-level supervision on the shop floor, to the manager, to the CEO.

Safety and Health Week (May 5–10) is a time to recognize the importance of preventing injuries and illnesses—whether at work, at home, or in our communities. We work safely so we can return home to the people who matter most. It’s the perfect opportunity to review your safety program, engage workers in safety education, and promote healthy habits both on and off the job.
