Every morning they stood there, a perfect circle of name-brand, superficial fluff. I stood there, smoking, ignoring their laughter, their “bitch” taunts directed at me. A deep drag filled me with courage. I squeezed between their shoulders and exhaled. Choking smoke silenced their laughter, distorted their perfect circle.
