FILM - PERSEPOLIS, The Screenery, 81 China St, Wednesday & Sunday 14th & 18th April 7pm

A 2007 animated biographical drama film which follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian Revolution. The film was an international co-production made by companies in France and Iran. It premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, where it co-won the Jury Prize, alongside Silent Light. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, but lost to Ratatouille.

Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel sets her sight on Spanish colonial history of the late 18th century: In a remote small settlement in Paraguay, a bored colonial officer, Zama, desperately tries to get himself transferred to the capital, a move that is resisted and denied by his superiors. As he becomes more and more desolate, he resorts to joining a posse of men in a hunt for a local bandit that will prove disastrous. The film was unanimously hailed by critics and reviewers.

A 5-part series showcasing true authentic Malaysian folk tales. This first part will feature two fascinating Malaysian tales, "Badang The Magnificent" & "Si Tanggang The Ungrateful Son." Humans have long been captivated by them, and they never fail to capture our attention with their graceful movements and delightful colours. In this talk you will learn more about these ethereal beauties from Mr David Goh, the founder of Penang Butterfly Farm, and Matthew Huan, an avid educator and assistant curator based in Australia. FILM - JAWS, The Screenery, 81 China St, Tuesday & Saturday 20th & 24th April 7pm

A 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg in which a man-eating great white shark attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town, prompting police chief Martin Brody to hunt it with the help of a marine biologist and a professional shark hunter.
Jaws was the prototypical summer blockbuster, regarded as a watershed moment in motion picture history, and it won several awards for its music and editing. It was the highest-grossing film until the release of Star Wars in 1977.

WORKSHOP - JOURNALING THROUGH MOVEMENT - Online and Tropical Spice Gardens, Teluk Bahang, Sunday 25th April 10am-11.30am

Weave words to life with Mislina Mustaffa and Aida Redza on this 2-day online workshop of writing and movement - this time, featuring live music. Trace the language of the body to bring more depth and life into your daily writings and thoughts.

This group class will start with movement to get everyone into a creative state, followed by a writing session led by Mislina. Finally, we will use somatic movement ideas to weave our words together into a simple choreography.

GUIDED TOUR - THE HABITAT, Penang Hill, Thursday 29th April 9am-1pm

Meet at Botanic Garden for transfer to The Habitat, where nature guides will lead you on a journey of discovery to look at the details, identify the sounds, smells, tastes and textures of the marvellous flora and fauna in this ancient rainforest.
