Announcing Academic Analytics Research Center

Academic Analytics is pleased to announce the formation of the Academic Analytics Research Center (AARC). AARC is tasked with finding ways the Academic Analytics database can be applied to uncover and disseminate new data and findings on issues of concern to higher education and scholarly research.

MSU researcher developing ways to eat away portions of plaques causing heart attacks

Bryan Smith, associate professor of biomedical engineering at MSU, and collaborating researchers are working on a “Trojan Horse” nanoparticle that can be directed to eat debris, reducing and stabilizing plaque. The research seeks to advance the treatment of atherosclerosis, which kills more men and women in America than cancer.

DER congratulates Xuefei Huang

Xuefei Huang was announced as a winner of the William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Award. He has developed an internationally recognized, award-winning research program focused on the chemistry and biology of carbohydrates, and engineering carbohydrate-based constructs and glycol- conjugates for biomedical applications and glycol nanomaterials for molecular imaging and targeted drug delivery.

Lessons Learned in Writing SBIR & STTR Grants

On February 14th in the Kellogg Center join the panelists for an interactive discussion on SBIR/STTR grant writing. The panelists will share their experiences and resources for writing winning grant proposals. Both novice and advanced grant writers will benefit from attendance. Click for more information.

The Academic Analytics seminar is an overview of the new “MSU Scholars” public-facing website, as well as the internal “Faculty Insight” website. These resources will help faculty search for grant funding opportunities specific to their own research interests. In addition, the tool also has an algorithm that helps faculty find scholars nationwide who share similar research interests for collaboration opportunities.
