TRUST IN THE PROCESS - 7 Years |
I wanted to start off giving my biggest congratulations to Brooke and her awesome family! I've had other players I've trained commit to Division 1 schools, but this one is a little different and something special to me. I'm sure you've seen a lot of Brooke here on the newsletters and on some of my videos, but that is because she is my LONGEST trained player. I've been training her for 7-8 years now. When we started, she was a 9-year old (or so, I can't remember that far back) on her local club team. If you don't believe me, check out the video below from a LONG TIME ago when man-buns were cool... As sad as it is, it's my most viewed youtube video.

I also wanted to say thank you to Dave and Deb - Brooke's fantastic parents. They trusted the process/in what we're doing from the very beginning and allowed me to be a consistent guiding force in her career no matter where she was. They even listed me as a reference for the Cornell coaches so I could fill them in on what a fantastic player/person she is. Personally, I've been recently been coaching 15-20 hours alone on the weekend and we both are giving a lot of our "normal" life to change the lives of these players and there is no bigger thanks than kind words, support, and continued text updates of success. We are not in this to be another player in the wrong game, we are here to change the game for the players here. Thank you again Brown family.

I want to sincerely apologize because, in the midst of opening our home-base in Prospect Heights, I've let the accounting get a little behind. Please remember prices have changed to what's listed below or what can be found on the link below.
Also, we will update you shortly on any outstanding balance you may owe here shortly, but please double check for us to save us time and any fees. Thank you so much for understanding.

SPRING BREAK-THROUGH TRAININGS |
We have had a lot of requests for players to take their game to the next level during their time off school and have decided to add some more hours in our Prospect Heights facility. We can even do longer sessions for families coming from farther away. Please reach out to us ASAP as we are running at near capacity as it is.

SOLUTIONS TO MORE CLUB PRACTICES |
We understand many clubs are training more now that the weather is warming up, which means players don't have as many "free" days, but we know the importance of focused skills training from skill experts opposed to 15/20 to 1 trainings built for a team. Having said that, we will be offering shorter more technical and less fitness-based sessions before or after our club trainings for our players coming from local clubs who are very close (for example - Sockers and FC United.) At high levels, committed players will often stay for 30-45 minutes (sometimes longer) after training to work on what they need for their position. I played until I was 31 because I would always have something new to try out in the next game. For me, it was a wasted game if I didn't have a new skill or improve a skill between games (that is hard to do during team trainings.) We want to offer this same opportunity to our players who should already be warmed up from team trainings. Please contact us about shortened session around team trainings and we will do our best to make it work (if possible.)
Check this clip out from one of our True Pro Players. He's already committed to Marquette, but he's still putting in the work after his club training so he can enter college soccer on the attack! We know what we're doing and know how to manage the sessions/training-load. And this is the after...wait until we show you the difference.

We have had many requests for a summer camp and will be looking into it over the next couple weeks.
A big part of camps are about having fun, but they, first and foremost, about learning new skills and growing as people. Please remember this when choosing a camp for your player. I've run a lot of camps in my time doing this and everyone of them has had players saying it was one of their favorites - if not their favorite, but, more importantly, they learned A LOT. Please fill out the days for our best chance to help your player make great strides and have so much fun.

We had a busy week for an opening and I had a lot of fun getting back into the heavy coaching schedule. Brooke was in the facility two times within in a handful of days. I'm so proud of the work she has put/puts in and the trust/investment her family has put in. It's a process and the results take patience and time. We are all hoping she can committ to a top Division 1 program here during her Junior Year.

Here's some fun with a player we've been able to see conistently over the past two years. When he started with me, he was a defender on the 2nd team; I told him the first time I saw him that he was a midfielder and it's something we've aimed for ever since. Fast-foward a year and he's a top level midfielder and, in my opinion, one of the most technical players in the state for his age. Take a look below and see what you think.

NEW FACILITY AVAILABILITY |
Our players have absolutely loved the playing space at the Center of True Development. Premium turf, multiple goals, and top-class balls as usual. We understand it's not the closest for everyone, but, we can see about doing longer sessions (90 minutes) for families that are making longer drives.
We haven't really set anything in stone, but some people have requested weekly spots and we still have some space left on the weeknights for anyone interested in getting a weekly spot set.
Also, we are looking to put together groups; if anyone is interested in a group, please let us know.

Big Ten D1 Committ |
Then we have Morgan who recently committed to the D1 Big Ten program in Iowa. It was amazing working her in the time we had. As you can see, Iowa was her dream school. We are so happy to have played a small part in helping her attain those goals.

We understand all of our players have different goals and dreams; so whatever dreams/goals they may have turn into our dreams. In other words, our dream is to make their dreams come true. Congratulations to Tino and Morgan; not for these accomplishments, but for all the work they put in to get there.

The section above provides a smooth segue into something we did at the last camp and that has really helped us understand certain players - goal-setting. We do understand not every player was at the camp and also that goals change. We wanted to have all of their goals in a database for two reasons: first, to identify the best ways to motivate them intrinsically and, second, to hold them accountable with their pro-work / pro-prep. Please click the red button below and send the link to your players so we have their goals properly documented for development purposes.

So I spoke with all my friends who does consulting for colleges and he told me that the college athletic budgets for travel since Covid has been greatly reduced. Unfortunately, it makes it harder for coaches to see players in person, but, on the other hand, it gives players with proper video the upper hand. I recently took it upon myself to start offering video services to my players. I have a long history doing this for myself as a player and my teammates as well. It's not something that I planned to do when I retired but it does provide value to the players and, as you know, we are always willing to do whatever we can do to help them. Please let me know us this is something you may be interested in for your player. Of course, it's great for college recruiting, but it's a good source of inspiration for the player if they had a good match.

Hi all, as some of you know. We have some big things in the works here, so, as you can imagine, it's been pretty crazy, but we wanted to let you know that we will have our plans for our winter camps done hopefully by the beginning of next week. Please keep this in mind when planning all of our trips. The plan is to have a multiple day camp as we did in the summer.

We understand there is a high demand for what we are doing and will be re-arranging and re-setting schedules to make it work the best we can for as many people as possible. Please bare with us as we have some options to open up more space soon. Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, there is only two of us right now.

Since we've had such a great response from our original TPD Shirts and we are creating something special here, we decided to roll out another shirt for our players/supporters. We like these because we feel they correctly portray the cutting-edge side of our training. See if you can find a couple of the hidden images cut into the negative Space of the text. We have not put them on our shop yet, but just reach out if you or your player is interested. These are high quality 100% shirts and geared for parents and players alike. If you are interested in repping the Truth let us know and we'll get you sorted out.

PAYMENT / CANCELLATION PROTOCOL |
Out of fariness to ourselves and everyone in our program, we will be fairly strict on our late policy moving forward. If you pay be Zelle, we will be sending you an zelle request from our business account. Thanks in advance for understanding how annoying it is to track down payments. As for groups and players missing from sessions, we will ask you to internally regulate the groups; if you will be missing please message us and the group (Ideally at once.)

We are the only ones I've heard of that, if a player misses a group session unnanounced, we don't expect a parent to pay the entire session fee, but just the amount that lets the rest of the parents pay what they expected to. So if there are 4 players and it's should have been $33 per parent and one player doesn't show (without giving notice to us) then we just ask you pay the $21 to allow the other parents to pay the same $33 so we are making what we have listed for a 3-person session. So if you accidently forget, you lose and we lose but the other parents don't lose. Or the other parents could pay the 3-person price, but that's something you all have to sort out with your group.
Also, we will start implementing a small fee for underpayments moving forward as there are way too many as of late. This makes for much more unnecessary accounting work. We know it's probably because parents may not know how many players were there. It's easier if you just ask your player or text us if you really don't know. Thank you so much for understanding and helping out!

Movement Efficiency to Soccer Application Program |
I am happy to announce I will be partnering up with the Dr. who owns the facility to create a joint session working with our athletes on both ends of the spectrum (movement efficiency and soccer skills.) The Dr. has a great understanding of the body and was a rugby professional so he knows what it takes to play at a high-level as well. He, like me, emphasises the importance of attention to detail and on quality of our work over quantity. We will be emphasizing control and proper execution in these sessions. The Dr. will prime the athletes muscles and I'll put them to work with some application in the soccer skills. There will be limited availability so please message me if this is something you might be interested in.

I had the option to go indoors this weekend, but I chose not to for many reasons. First, I think with evertying going on it's better to be outside as long as possible. Second, the bigger space is so important to a player's development and I feel we must take advantage of this time. Third, to be honest, it's part of the culture I'm trying to create here - Discomfort is part of the path to growth. As long as it's not dangerous to them. We are not there with the weather yet. Fourth, I understand it will be more expensive for you all to go indoors.
As for the indoor transition, my idea is to start inside next weekend. We will only be in Geneva at the facility below and I will have availability Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's not a giant space, but it's a very nice space. I will start Next Saturday as of now so please let me know any and all times that might work for the weekend as soon as possible because I will be starting to set people in schedules sooner than later. Thank you.
Indoor Location:
429 N. Kirk rd, Geneva. Door 104
REMINDERS ABOUT INDOOR TRAININGS FROM PREVIOUS NEWSLETTERS BELOW
Obviously, there is a difference in the pricing, but, I think many of you understand renting indoor facility cost money + necessitates insurance (even more-so in the winter.) And, as many of you have seen, no one can do what I can do so, rest assured, even with the price increase, you are getting the best value for your players development.
PAIRING/GROUPING PLAYERS
With the limited availability and price increase I will be, once again, pairing players/allowing players from different clubs to participate in sessions.
CREDIT TOWARDS SESSIONS
I will also be adding in a way for players to earn credit towards sessions for communty service hours volunteered by players (more below.) The goal of this is to make as big of an impact on the game/it's players/the world and if they are making a difference then value is being traded.
BI-MONTHLY (every other week scheduling) SCHEDULING
On top of that, there will very likely be many slots reserved not weekly but every other week so I can still guide as many players as possible to their full potential/dreams.

Until further notice, I'l be offering up to 3 hours of community service for each player to account for $7 off for each hour served. Please reach out to me for more details. This offer is the maximum and only applicable to private sessions. We can potentially discuss other possibilities for group sessions or pair sessions.

Whether we are able to continue or not this winter. To start, I will do my best to meet with all players who I've had at least 15 sessions with this year since I've worked with so many players this year. We will have to coordiante a day/time, but I would really like to get to know my players better off "the-pitch." Please make sure we connect to find a time to meet up so we can discuss soccer/life goals/problems. Thank you!
I'll obviously be more available to analyze video / games this winter if that's something that might interest you.

Hi, I would like to ask for your help with payments. I am okay with parents paying at their convenience, but I would greatly appreciate payment on the same date unless we have discussed a pre-payment or an invoice situation.
AND if you ARE not able to pay on the day of the session then I kindly you ask you to make the date of the payment on the notes in Zelle.
