New 2019 HPC nodes on-order

Our annual purchase of 40 new HPC nodes is on its way! These nodes sport Intel Xeon 6248 20-core processors (@ 2.5Ghz), 196 GB of memory, SSD disks, and EDR InfiniBand capable of 100 Gbps throughput. We expect to receive and install these nodes in a few weeks.

Bin Chen published by NASA

A new study published by NASA has revealed that the material around a distant, rapidly growing super-massive black hole is spinning at a speed greater than about 70% of the speed of light. RCC staff member, Bin Chen, participated in the research.

Omni-Path upgrade to InfiniBand

We are currently working on upgrading our Omni-Path infrastructure to InfiniBand. This will improve both the throughput and reliability of the HPC. Details are coming soon!
