I've always loved fantasy novels, and have been wanting to try my hand at writing them for a while. I will say I never guessed at how difficult writing fantasy would be for me.
Why, you ask? Well, let's just say, it's very difficult to build a new world, remember all the unique characteristics of your different characters, and "pants your way" through a book. Yes, it's 100% an issue of not wanting to outline. All you English teachers, I can hear you cheering... :(
As I said earlier, Adam J. Ridley will be the pen name I use to differentiate my romances from my fantasies (as so many of you requested in a previous newsletter survey.)
Anyway, the Witch Brothers Saga has been a long time coming. I started this series in 2019 and wrote a bit, then sat on it, wrote a bit then sat on it, then finally, thanks to the covid lockdown in 2020/21, I got serious and now, after much ado... My first fantasy books will be coming out to play.
Romance vs Fantasy - to be honest, the Witch Brothers Saga books really are a bridge between the two genres and i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I've been writing Romance for many years now.
The brothers all have a HEA but also some cliffhangers. I know, I can hear the hissing from the romance lovers even as I write this. But, y'all... it wouldn't REALLY be a fantasy series without them, at least that's my opinion and since I am the writer... lol
Okay, enough of all that. I'll be dropping all three Witch Brother's books this summer. June (book one) July (book two) and September (book three.)
In October, we'll get back to my contemporary romances with a Roctoberfest release. More on that later. Then finally in November and December I'll drop at least one holiday book, maybe two if my editors are able to get to them both.
My guess is Melody Series books 2 and 3 will be coming out in January/February of next year.
So, lots happening y'all. It's so fun to have you with me and my goal is to release at least one newsletter a month. If possible I MIGHT get two out, but no promises... Sorry!
