There is a role for everyone

As a volunteer-run organisation, we rely on the support of our members to run our club programs and activities. There are also many ways to get involved at the club without getting wet!

There is a variety of committee roles to suit all interests and skills sets. If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact the Director for that area. We are happy for these roles to be shared if needed. Queries related to the Finance and Administration areas can be directed to Vice President Ian Noorman

Alternatively, you can help out at the club with activities like our bbqs, beach set up on Sundays, becoming a patrolling member or getting your Nipper Rescue Certificate to do water safety and helping our Admin team in the office, to name a few.  If you have an idea of how you'd like to help but are unsure of how to go about it, please email Club Captain Jess Williams.

If you would like to gain work experience in a particular area of operating a small business, volunteering at the club is a great way to do this and we can provide a reference for you too.

We need every member to take on one activity; big, small or in between to run our club to its maximum potential.

We welcome everyone to play a part in the club's success.

Starfish Nippers is a life saving skills program designed for children and young adults with a disability 6 years and older. Following a successful first season, we are looking for volunteers to continue this wonderful program at Secret Harbour for the 2020/21 season. If you are interested in running the Starfish Nippers program, please contact Club Captain Jess Williams at

  • Ordering and picking up BBQ supplies each week.
  • Setting up/preparing BBQ for Nippers each week.

You are assisted by our lovely Nipper age group parents who help run it and tidy up each Sunday

Please contact the office if you can help. Thanks for your support.

Environmental and fundraising initiative
Containers for Change Coordinator

Secret Harbour SLSC will be participating in this new state-wide program that provides a 10c refund for each eligible container and will be a great fundraiser for the club. We will have a drop off site, providing a convenient service to local residents who can drop off their recycling and obtain refunds for themselves too! We are looking for someone to be the point of contact for the club and help get this off the ground. Please contact Ian Noorman to find out more about this great volunteer opportunity.

Director & Committee opportunities

The Club is seeking to fill the positions of Director of Youth and Director of House and Social for the upcoming season. These are two critical and highly rewarding positions.

Both of these positions have fantastic people who have held Director positions before, and are willing to support the person who takes on the role. So you will not be on your own and will have support. The Director of Finance position also needs to be filled. Please contact Club President Brendan Privilege for more information:

PR & Communications

The commitee positions of Sponsorship Officer, Fundraising Officer and Grants Officer are currently available. To find out more about these opportunities, please contact Anne Evans, Director of PR & Communications. For each of these roles, you will have full communications & PR support to promote your initiatives and projects. We are also looking for a Website Coordinator who can maintain our site content throughout the season using WordPress and be involved in an upcoming project to redesign/reformat the club website.
