A new year means a fresh start on the new series I didn’t get published last year. Sigh. I decided that part of my problem with releasing my new series stems to my ambivalence about the town’s name.

I thought I liked Whiskey Ridge, but turns out I didn’t. Now, I have a whole new list of possibilities. Too many to make up my mind, it turns out.

Here’s a sneak peek at what I’m planning.

Welcome to _________, a small, western town deep in the heart of California’s Gold Country–where the vein of love runs wide and deep.

Her Gold Country Valentine (Gold Country, Book 1) – A cowboy and city gal meet Cupid’s secret weapon: a pregnant and abandoned little donkey.

The Rancher's and the Widow’s First Christmas (Gold Country, Book 2) – They gambled on a miracle—and lost. Now, it’s clear “no strings attached” doesn’t apply to family.

Falling for a Stranger (Gold Country, Book 3) – He may not remember his past, but she sees a future with the man she’s come to know.

Second-Chance Homecoming (Gold Country, Book 4) – The girl “most likely to screw up” returns—secret in hand.

The Deputy’s K-9 Matchmaker (Gold Country, Book 5) – Meeting her was love at first sight…for his matchmaking police dog.

Below is a list of the top six town names Paul likes. Please vote for the one that resonates with you or add a suggestion of your own. I’ll pick one winner from all who vote to receive a $10 Amazon gift card.

Sweetwater, CA
Cottonwood Creek, CA
Grizzly Ridge, CA
Manzanita, CA
Sierra Junction, CA
Bullion, CA

Our son, JP, has been busy continuing the work on his home that we helped remodel last year. I thought you might like to see what he’s done to the very poorly constructed garage that came with the property. Of course, we’ve been no help other than storing all the stuff that came out of the garage.😉

I’ve read some really good books lately and thought I’d share a few of my faves, along with a couple that Paul recommends. He’s more of a non-fiction/history fan. I like a little bit of everything.

We celebrated our middle granddaughter’s birthday this week! She’s getting so tall and grown up.
