ART EXHIBITION Khaw Sia - Ongoing

This exhibition of Malaysian Pioneer Artist Khaw Sia's work would have been hanging at the E&O Hotel now were it not for the corona crisis. Instead a virtual exhibition has been created by curator Eelene Tan of The Art Gallery. You can view the exhibition here.

The Singapore Jazz Association brings you an online concert to celebrate the UNESCO International Jazz Day. Besides a virtual jam session, there'll be performances and jazz solos by many performers, including 7-time Grammy Award-Winning Trumpeter and Flugelhornist Randy Brecker. THEATRE Emily of Emerald Hill Live Talkback Thursday 30th April 9pm

Singapore’s Wild Rice Theatre is currently streaming its celebrated theatre production Emily of Emerald Hill online for free. The play evokes the golden age of Straits-Chinese culture in the 1930s, but the issues raised about women’s roles continue to resonate in the present. Watch the show on YouTube, and then join the live talkback on 30 April at 9pm!

ART WORKSHOP Acrylic or Watercolour? Saturday 2nd May 2pm-4pm

Esther Geh, a Penang-born Artist with a passion for botanical illustration, leads a virtual workshop she had planned to give during the Open Studios Penang Art Festival. She will show how to paint with acrylics using glazes of transparent colour to resemble a watercolour painting, laying down glazes, and mingling colours to create luminous effects.
