We, the American Friends of Likud, congratulate and thank President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan for reaching a historic declaration of normalization between Israel and Sudan.
In addition to demonstrating a long awaited and welcome pattern of Middle East peace agreements with Israel, this normalization provides tremendous opportunities for Israel to support the people of Sudan in strengthening their democracy, improving food security, countering terrorism and extremism, and helping them tap into their economic potential.
We also praise this announcement as a clear rejection of the infamous "Three Nos" Khartoum resolution regarding Israel passed at the Arab League summit following the 1967 Six-Day War - “No peace, no recognition, no negotiations.”
We are grateful for President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's accomplishments, which continue to bring about the evolution of a regional mindset that now strives towards peace and mutual benefit.
