“Everything waits for an open gate in a wall of clouds for rain sweet and loud to fill the well and start the stream” — from All the Water in the World by George Ella Lyon (as shared by Elizabeth in her update from Swallow Hill this week)
It seems like yesterday we were longing for a sunny day for market, and now we would celebrate a rainy one! The fields are desperate for a natural drink — irrigation can only get farmers so far. The dry earth reminds us how precious the resources are that we rely on for sustenance, giving us real reason to support local farmers like those at market who are committed to conserving and protecting those limited resources.
For those familiar with KSQ producers, below is this Friday's lineup at a glance. You can keep reading to find details for each producer including how frequently they attend market, what they plan to have this week, and how to preorder with those who offer the option.
We look forward to seeing you this (and every) Friday 3–6 PM just outside The Creamery!

Location & Parking
Find us in the parking area of The Creamery of Kennett Square @ 401 Birch St. The Creamery opens for drinks + dining at 4pm on Fridays.
FREE PARKING is available on the WEST side of 226 Birch St (across the street from Braeloch Brewing) or at the office adjacent to The Creamery @ 455 Birch St. We encourage you to use the lots versus the street to be respectful to residents on Birch.
ACCESSIBILITY: Two designated accessible parking spaces are located at the WEST end of The Creamery building. Please note that the lot is not an entirely smooth paved surface, though it is relatively flat. If you need any assistance to shop, please let us know how we can help!
Market Shopping Tips
- Preorders continue to be helpful for both producers & customers, so take advantage of that option as available to secure exactly what you need for the week.
- BRING CA$H as not all vendors accept cards or have a minimum for card use. (Cash is always appreciated, as the fees for card use add up for small businesses!)
- PA-based produce farms accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC) + Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks from June–November.
- BYO reusable bags to help reduce plastic waste.
- BYO cooler or insulated bag to help keep things fresh and safe on hot days.
- Feel free to use the red wagons at market entry to help carry your load as you shop — just return when done!
- Stop by the Market Info tent or ask one of the vendors to point out Ros, the Market Manager, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions!
Market Manners for Dogs
- Well-behaved pups kept on a short, non-retractable leash are welcome at market!
- Please be sure your dog is comfortable walking calmly past people and other pups of all sizes without lunging, barking, or growling. If you are unsure, please be kind to your dog and others by not bringing them to market.
- If your dog becomes stressed or uncomfortable, please quickly step out of the market area.
- Mind your dog's manners while at vendor tables.
- We appreciate your consideration to keep all safe and happy!
