2020 is so Last Year. 

It's time for an Opera Trip Do-Over.

Sometimes in life, we get the chance for a do-over. A Mulligan. Or maybe the third time's the charm. 

After multiple postponements, I have just returned from an incredible trip to the Amalfi Coast, Sicily, and Rome (and came back home just in time for the Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition and Opera's Greatest Hits concert!). 

That trip was only one of several 2022 reincarnations of trips that had been originally scheduled for 2020. Another of these is our Opera Guild trip to Milan and Verona.

Italian Intermezzo was first announced in 2019, scheduled for 2020, and will finally make its debut July 5-13, 2022 with an appropriate rebranding: Intermezzo/Interrupted. 

This installment in the Mon Voyage Vivace series is a whirlwind music tour that includes bucket-list opera experiences. It's been a long time coming, but you have only ten days to reserve your spot.

We will begin in beautiful Verona, where participants may select two performances at the renowned annual Opera Festival in the historic Roman arena, with the option of adding a third. (Every opera lover should see a bigger-than-life Aida production in this stunning setting!) 

The trip also includes several days in Milan, where the group will enjoy a VIP package for a new production of Rigoletto at La Scala, starring Nadine Sierra as Gilda. In addition, you will have the option to add tickets for the ballet Giselle. Tours of the opera house and the museum will also be on our itinerary.

Several other activities and tours are lightly scheduled for your daytime enjoyment, including a visit to the Stradivarius Foundation's Violin Museum in Cremona, walking tours of both Milan and Verona, and a day trip to Sirmione, on Lake Garda.

In appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the Guild's Travel Program, those joining the trip are kindly asked to make an additional donation to TDO Guild in support of the Vocal Competition. Suggested minimum contribution for this trip is $350 per person.

Members with nonrefundable trip deposits from the 2020 trip will be able to apply those amounts as credit toward the 2022 trip.
