Sowing the seeds for a sustainable future since 1989.

It's a wrap... thank you for another 'treerific' year at TreeProject!
Kevin the Koala in our manager Susi's garden says thanks!
Thank you for your incredible support this year! Whether you're a grower, landholder, planter, admin, sponsor, depot worker, seed packer, on the Committee, new to the TreeProject community or have been volunteering for decades, you’re a vital part of our story. TreeProject thrives because of its many moving parts, and your support in whatever capacity you serve lies firmly at the core of our successes.
During 2024, we achieved so much together: 134,000 seedlings sown by 368 volunteer growers (supported by 53 coordinators) and 41 planting days attended by 1,060 planters. That’s an incredible effort! But with 162,000 seedling orders to fulfil in the coming year, it’s clear we're in for another big year!
To keep growing our impact, we need your help. Donations—big or small—ensure we can continue restoring our planet. They help us buy essential supplies, upgrade our tech systems, support our dedicated volunteers and more. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back or a unique gift idea, your donation will make a real difference.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
Special words for two very special TreeProjecters!
At our recent AGM, we were thrilled to welcome our new Committee, whom we’ll introduce in the new year. In the meantime, we'd like to give a huge shoutout to two amazing TreeProject Community members who have been at the heart of TreeProject for so many years — our outgoing President, Stephanie, and Vice President, Tom.
Their vision, leadership and dedication have been truly inspiring, helping shape TreeProject into the organisation it is today. We’re so grateful for all you’ve done Stephanie and Tom and we thank you for your tireless efforts and commitment.
Stephanie, with your quiet, measured, and unassuming manner, your leadership over the past number of years has been truly valued and nothing short of amazing. You’ve brought such a fresh, approachable energy to the role, whilst keeping a sharp focus on the big picture. From preparing budgets and forecasting to ensuring we keep growing and moving forward, your skills and vision have made a real difference.
We are so grateful for everything you’ve done to guide us into a brighter future. We're thrilled that we'll see you around the table, serving on the committee.
This absolute legend, Tom, our outgoing Vice President, has been a key part of the TreeProject committee for many years. Thank you for all the time, dedication, and immense effort you've put into TreeProject. You've been such a great support to Stephanie over the years, and your advocacy for Landcare groups and their support for landholders has been invaluable. Whether it was rallying volunteer groups for call-arounds and emails, lending a helping hand at the depot (always with a smile!), or championing the idea of planting natives on nature strips (such a brilliant idea!), you've played a key role in TreeProject’s successes. Your energy, smile, and sense of humour will be missed, but even though you're stepping down from the committee, don’t think you're off the hook—we’ll be calling on you! Thanks for everything, Tom.
With thanks to Stephanie

Greetings to all TreeProject supporters
Welcome from John McRae, incoming President
The 2024 planting season is well behind us and the seedlings will now be establishing themselves. At this stage of the year, it’s a huge thank you to staff and volunteers for all their amazing contributions. This includes all the support work such as tube washing, box washing, kit assembly, seed sourcing, seed packing, grower training, kit transport, kit pickup, growing, coordinating, planting out, communications, technology and accounts.
Looking forward, the 2025 Autumn season is in full flight with most growers having already sown their boxes. Collectively we are all contributing to habitat and biodiversity improvement as part of a supportive social enterprise.
For the coming year, there are 3 areas I would like to concentrate on:
Operational Improvements – there have been enormous improvements in the last few years but there is still much to do.
Social Connectedness – the human element has many possibilities, e.g. meetups around the state, tours to see past planting sites and zoom sessions on growing, understanding species, etc
Volunteer Management – the introduction of the Volunteer Portal will allow us to have self-organising groups with a conduit back to the committee via a liaison officer (staff or committee). Some of the key groups will be fundraising and grants as these enable us to continue our good work.
Happy Growing, John McRae
Volunteer Growers & Coordinators - we need you!
Thanks to all our growers tending to their brand new seedlings! We're eagerly looking to fill our allocation of growers needed to grow in January 2025. PLEASE spread the word amongst your networks, and let's get growing!
If you're a seasoned grower and could volunteer your time as a coordinator, please be in touch via admin@treeproject.org.au
Thank you again to all of our many sponsors and supporters who have made this year so successful. We look forward to working with you again in 2025!
Happy Holidays!
