The NOVA BHRE and the NOVA Green Lab have put together an e-course on 'ESG Reporting and Due Diligence' which will be held in Portuguese. The objective of this course is to enable participants to understand the evolving legal framework and help companies to align their policies and strategies to these new requirements and become sustainability leaders. The opening session of this e-course will be given by the former Secretary of State for Internationalisation, Bernardo Ivo Cruz and the e-course will feature internationally renown experts in the field from both academic and practice. The NOVA BHRE was delighted to take part in the Business and Human Rights Summer School which took place in Rome (Temple University) between the 17th and 21st of June as Claire Bright co-delivered a class, together with Angelica Bonfanti on Protecting Human Rights throughout the value chain through Human Rights Due Diligence-aligned contracts.
Other speakers of the summer school included the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Heidi Hautala, as well as Michael Addo, Andrea Shemberg, Daniel Augenstein, Chiara Macchi, Jernej Letnar Černič, Olena Uvarova, Tara Van Ho, Matthew Renshaw, Elisa Dencheva, Humberto Cantú Rivera Rivera, Debadatta Bose, Takoua Tayari and Anita Ramasastry, amongst other stellar speakers. On the 14th of June 2024, Ana Santos Duarte attended the II Research Workshop on Business and Human Rights at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón. She presented her research on "Access to Remedy and the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive: Strengthening Justice for Victims of Corporate Human Rights Abuses”, which explored the challenges and obstacles victims face in seeking justice, and examined how the recent Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive could potentially enhance access to remedy.

On the 12th of June 2024, Claire Bright gave a guest lecture in Portuguese on the recent legislative developments on Business and Human Rights in Europe entitled 'Sobre o dever de diligência em matéria de sustentabilidade das empresas' online at the School of Law of UNISINOS - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos in Brazil. The event was opened by Anderson V. Teixeira, moderated by Jânia Saldanha and the speakers were Muriele Boscatto and Pedro Witschoreck.

Claire Bright also delivered a guest lecture in Portuguese online on the recently approved Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná in Brazil on the 24^th of June 2024 in an event coordinated by Danielle Pamplona.

On the 4th and 5th of June 2024, the NOVA BHRE was at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna as Claire Bright delivered a course on Business and Human Rights, together with Ron Popper from GBI to the students of the Master in Human Rights and Conflict Management.
