HELLO from Chicago and Happy 2023!
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. At this time three years ago, I was planning a book party for my debut novel, RELENTLESS featuring Washington, D.C. homicide detective Brian “Brick” Kavanagh. To celebrate my long-time goal of being a published author with family and friends was a dream come true. And the year, 2020, with several upcoming conferences and book signings was so promising until the world, as we knew it, shut down. Certainly, it wouldn’t last too long, or at least, that’s what I hoped. And here we are three years later. It was challenging, but during the pandemic years I wrote a second Brick Kavanagh book. DUPLICITY launched in October 2022. With the return of in-person conferences, things have started to feel more “normal” and I’ve enjoyed some significant firsts:
- Participating in a panel at Bouchercon in Minneapolis.
- A virtual book tour with Partners-in-Crime.
- DUPLICITY was included in a Booksweeps giveaway.
And best of all:
- A starred review for DUPLICITY from Publishers Weekly.
“Wilson’s excellent sequel to Relentless finds Brick Kavanagh, a former Washington, D.C., police detective, back home after three months in Ireland, where he was recovering from the previous book’s traumatic events… it’s a cracking good time. One doesn’t have to be a mystery fan to relish this.” —Publishers Weekly, Starred Review
To say we’ve been living in interesting times is a huge understatement. Here’s hoping 2023 will be a year where we can continue gathering at conferences, book signings, and literary events and celebrate what brings us together . . . the love of books!
